You adjust recoil springs to tune how the gun returns after firing.

2018-12-01 23:17:12 UTC

Go put the money you’d put into accessorizing into a pistol class and learn to use the thing.

2018-12-01 23:18:14 UTC

That's exactly how it works.

2018-12-01 23:18:28 UTC

Putting a stiffer spring in affects it both ways

2018-12-01 23:19:01 UTC

Im aware. Muzzle flip, recoil whatever it is it has a very sharp upwards pull. I asked for recommendations on parts. I wanted to get a new spring for starters and was asking about anything else that might help that. The laser/light is the only "because i want one" thing

2018-12-01 23:19:21 UTC

You bought a gun that no one makes parts for tho

2018-12-01 23:19:27 UTC

The guide rod + spring is always a noticeable improvement

2018-12-01 23:19:33 UTC

That would be your own damn fault

2018-12-01 23:19:36 UTC

Oof

2018-12-01 23:20:11 UTC

Theres plenty of aftermarket parts for it what the hell are you talking about

2018-12-01 23:20:17 UTC

And I’ve never found a gun where going to a heavier recoil spring was of much value

2018-12-01 23:20:27 UTC

There's a ton of aftermarket on Ruger

2018-12-01 23:20:28 UTC

I bought it because i liked it better than the Glock 19

2018-12-01 23:20:36 UTC

And they're similar size

2018-12-01 23:20:39 UTC

Then why are you asking here vs going on google?

2018-12-01 23:20:40 UTC

You can get that spring in like 5 different weights

2018-12-01 23:21:02 UTC

Just get the Galloway kit

2018-12-01 23:21:15 UTC

Comes assembled with a steel guide rod

2018-12-01 23:21:28 UTC

I see SR9 parts

2018-12-01 23:21:33 UTC

Not security 9

2018-12-01 23:21:50 UTC

Because google doesnt give many reviews or opinions on any of the parts whereas maybe people who actually shoot guns (maybe, its debateable with how little talk there is of actually shooting here) would be able to tell me anything to get/stay away from

2018-12-01 23:21:53 UTC

Never mind

2018-12-01 23:22:24 UTC

If you're just going to be a smug faggot with 0 input besides "no" then why would you even bother posting

2018-12-01 23:22:33 UTC

^

2018-12-01 23:22:34 UTC

I mean, I actually shoot guns. Probably more than most folks here combined.

2018-12-01 23:22:54 UTC

And have done my own experimentation with recoil springs. But usually the opposite direction.

2018-12-01 23:23:15 UTC

I care about how the gun returns to zero, not how it feels in the hand

2018-12-01 23:23:28 UTC

(Feels in the hand meaning snappiness)

2018-12-01 23:23:29 UTC

Yes give me *lighter* springs fam. I want my fuckin gun to bottom out lol

2018-12-01 23:23:37 UTC

When i shoot the gun pops up considerably, i want to reduce that
"Thats not recoil go spend money on a class instead"

2018-12-01 23:23:42 UTC

@Stubbs its all about tuning

2018-12-01 23:23:51 UTC

And almost all guns bottom out

2018-12-01 23:24:22 UTC

@Asotil I’m telling you that you’re not gonna do much about that. That’s a technique issue. Grip strength and wrist strength.

2018-12-01 23:24:39 UTC

How it feels in the hand is fine, i just have large hands and said maybe the +2 would help with the extra inch or so added to the grip from the magazine

2018-12-01 23:24:53 UTC

The extension would probably help, yes

2018-12-01 23:25:04 UTC

Some manufacturers make solid extensions that don’t add capacity.

2018-12-01 23:25:04 UTC

My technique is fine. I have no problems with my 357 or any other handguns ive shot

2018-12-01 23:25:22 UTC

Ita just light and therefore moves more

2018-12-01 23:25:27 UTC

Theres less to absorb the recoil

2018-12-01 23:25:29 UTC

You are welcome to ignore what I have to say, no worries. But you may be wrong.

2018-12-01 23:25:38 UTC

Good luck.
