My mom and little sister both wanna get into just having some fun with one of my old 12 gauges

2019-02-10 03:48:52 UTC

And I only shot, maybe, a hundred rounds in the last year

2019-02-10 03:49:04 UTC

So I have no idea what good, cheap ammo brands are out there

2019-02-10 03:49:11 UTC

Any advice would be much appreciated

These guys?

2019-02-10 04:03:57 UTC

ye

2019-02-10 04:04:03 UTC

use ammoseek or SGAmmo for cheap plinking rounds

2019-02-10 04:50:28 UTC

@Alvor_the_Warhawk I can personally vouch for Fiocchi's handgun ammo. Gr8 quality for the price

2019-02-10 05:19:47 UTC

PPU and magtech I've had good times with

2019-02-10 07:39:55 UTC

Reloading looks like fun

2019-02-10 11:41:06 UTC

Reloading is time consuming

2019-02-10 11:42:16 UTC

@Alvor_the_Warhawk for a 12ga and recreational shooting, you can just get target loads (which are cheaper and also lower recoil than things like buckshot)

2019-02-10 11:43:18 UTC

If it’s a pump or break action shotgun, they aren’t picky with ammo. Federal, Estate are fine

2019-02-10 13:02:25 UTC

Avoid Winchester

2019-02-10 13:06:20 UTC

For shotgun ammo, or in general?

2019-02-10 13:06:27 UTC

I know their pistol ammo is crap

2019-02-10 13:08:05 UTC

In general

2019-02-10 13:09:16 UTC

I had some ammo malfunctions in a pump action. I thought it was my extractor at first

2019-02-10 13:09:38 UTC

Their shotgun ammo is stupid price wise. It works in a break action but it's stupid on price

2019-02-10 13:12:31 UTC

I have some 9x18 Fiocci that works fine in my Mak.
PPU is fair quality for good price.

2019-02-10 13:13:27 UTC

I usually go for Federal game field and game loads with my Vepr-12 if I just want to plink or `REEEEEEEEE` at pests.

2019-02-10 13:13:40 UTC

Federal is decent

2019-02-10 13:13:51 UTC

Ammoseek is always your friend for this

2019-02-10 13:23:40 UTC

PPU is always a good choice

2019-02-10 13:24:17 UTC

If it existed, PPU probably makes it for half the price at the same quality as another manufacturer

2019-02-10 13:26:56 UTC

Ppu also makes most of the Wildcats

2019-02-10 13:27:15 UTC

Ppu is litteraly the good guy Greg meme of ammo makers

2019-02-10 13:27:41 UTC

I love them

2019-02-10 13:28:22 UTC

There's cheaper ammo out there, but you're digging through import ammo from combloc at that point

2019-02-10 13:28:43 UTC

And all that shit is corrosive

2019-02-10 13:28:52 UTC

Yep

2019-02-10 13:29:07 UTC

PPU brass is also great for reloading

2019-02-10 13:29:31 UTC

I don't think they use Berdan primers on anything, just Boxer.

2019-02-10 13:46:37 UTC

Can’t say that PPU would be my first choice unless it was some odd caliber

2019-02-10 13:46:51 UTC

I haven’t been super impressed with their quality.

2019-02-10 13:59:05 UTC

Maybe I've just gotten lucky then

2019-02-10 16:31:59 UTC

Only issues I've ever had while using ppu were mag related. Never once had a bad primer

2019-02-10 16:33:17 UTC
