Bouncers are deep divers, Rosies are more akin to a low depth dive suit

The Alphas/Lancers are actually a neat combination of the two design wise

Not entirely, the Rosie suit IIRC was actually the first suit they designed and it's the one that's used the most by the big daddies that do the majority of the maintenance inside and outside of Rapture

But then someone also decided to make it bullet resistant, but you could say that was an inherent design feature

I will say that I appreciate their consideration about how that drill actually works underwater without drowning it's own engine

On the Bouncer models

tbf making something pressure resistant also tends to make it exceedingly difficult to damage.
