whereas the US only has the constitution and consumerism.
The country the founding fathers intended has transformed into a giant shopping mall.
i'll repeat my question: What's the alternative to democracy?
because 200 years of constitution just don't cut it when it comes to the metaphysical meaning that thousands of years of tradition from episcopalians to catholics to buddhists have bestowed on the individual comprising units of the american people.
because doing anything else is spitting in the face of your so beloved constitution (not that the hacks in capitol hill aren't)
Nearly anything else.
@Largezo112 plato's philosopher kings
The constitution doesn't mean anything anymore.
It's funny that you like democracy as long as you are winning but when you are losing you suddenly long for a benevolent dictator
and if the left does that you call them nuts
so what binds this american "nation" as a nation except for starbucks and apple? nothing. dehumanize yourself and face to bloodshed.
What? I never liked democracy. I'm not Ted Cruz.
Democracy is bad even when "my side" is winning.
@Largezo112 contradiction in terms, the left doesn't have anything benevolent in them.
for individual rights and freedoms such as religion and speech it's the least worst option
concentrating power no matter how smart of well-wishing the individual is never works out
the fact that there are no weighted votes according to iq, says it all about democracy.
the voting age should be rised to 30
fight me
My right to freedom of speech means nothing if, when I exercise it, I can be harassed by Leftist mobs, fired from my job, and demonized by the media.
which wasn't really an empire but a loose collection of kingdoms
nope
and i'm pretty sure that even during medieval times it was not sunshine and rainbows
it was quite the empire that any modern european nation with a vestige of self respect used the eagle (one headed or double headed ) as its emblem.
next argument will be Byzantium
In medieval times, you wouldn't lose your job for saying that a man calling himself a woman isn't really a woman.
that's a false equivalency
Byzantium is the Eastern Roman empire, so keep reading.
you would be in trouble if you challenged the orthodoxy and said that God doesn't exist
Modern society is profoundly sick and depraved.
yes it is
and coming back to kings and queens won't fix it
I know.
nobody dared challenge christianity because the alternative (islam) meant being butchered or sold to slavery in North Africa
only individuals with high personal integrity and the will to face the music will
Medieval Europe needed Christianity as a glue to hold itself together.
which there is never enough
and so do we
without faith we have nothing
So some smart guy from Cambridge university is suggesting that we give 6 year olds the vote. that wasn't a question. all to stop discrimination of the young. what do you think? let me know down below. https://youtu.be/pnyxDExsBlw
