Nothing could have prepared me for the three weeks I spent embedded in this cesspool of hate. I partnered with a friend from reddit who also serves as a moderator of 4chan. I watched in horror while my friend reviewed posts on here. In one evening, she had to review a video that had been posted. She presses play.

The video depicts a man being murdered. Someone is stabbing him, dozens of times, while he screams and begs for his life. The job is to decide whether this post should be removed. I was literally shaking.
I felt an overpowering urge to sob. While another post needed review, I cannot concentrate. I had to leave the room, and cry so hard that I had trouble breathing. I now worry about the long-term impacts this has on my mental health. Its been three weeks and I still have feelings of anxiety, sleep loss, loneliness, and dissociation. But most of all, my friend is now an avowed white supremacist and is clamoring endlessly about "1488" and gassing the kikes.```
