12 years is a lot of time to do jack all.

2019-01-25 23:14:41 UTC

Are you surprised they didn't teach us about specific topics?

2019-01-25 23:14:44 UTC

Yep.

2019-01-25 23:14:53 UTC

Oh yeah I had PE too.

2019-01-25 23:15:00 UTC

PE = Physical Education.

2019-01-25 23:15:04 UTC

No, I sympathize because it's about as bad in the US.

2019-01-25 23:15:31 UTC

I'm a little aggravated that they don't teach history well, but I wasn't into history until some 10 years after high school.

2019-01-25 23:15:50 UTC

What do you think would be better subjects to teach (outside of the obvious like finances, economics (still a bit annoyed that my school didn't offer that one), philosophy)?

2019-01-25 23:16:18 UTC

I think they actually tried to do a very short course (basically a lacklustre effort to make it look like they cared) about finances.

2019-01-25 23:16:24 UTC

logic and critical thinking would be good.

2019-01-25 23:16:25 UTC

I barely rememeber that.

2019-01-25 23:16:30 UTC

Yep.

2019-01-25 23:16:37 UTC

I never got taught anything about that.

2019-01-25 23:16:40 UTC

They often try to bury logic into geometry out here via proofs but I heard they stopped that.

2019-01-25 23:16:55 UTC

I don't think we ever got taught proofs.

2019-01-25 23:17:22 UTC

I found proofs irritating because it wasn't explained how they work or correlate with the things I knew you do in math.

2019-01-25 23:17:49 UTC

I wish I knew more places I could learn logic from (programming introduced me to some of the concepts of logic for the most part, Marcus is good for that too) as well as critical thinking.

2019-01-25 23:18:11 UTC

Ha, they stopped at the women's suffrage movement because once women get the right to vote, your civilization is in the decline and it's just a matter of time.

2019-01-25 23:18:58 UTC

Huh, I actually don't remember getting taught anything from history after that period (granted I transferred to a school that didn't offer history after a while so it might have affected things).

2019-01-25 23:19:21 UTC

I liked my history teacher, I got taught by a guy.

2019-01-25 23:19:33 UTC

He was quite passionate and a cool guy.

2019-01-25 23:19:41 UTC

You know what I've never understood

2019-01-25 23:20:17 UTC

The US released a list of all occupations based on % by gender.

2019-01-25 23:20:39 UTC

What did you Americans get taught in school?

2019-01-25 23:20:41 UTC

You don't understand that?

2019-01-25 23:20:50 UTC

We get taught a lot of American history.

2019-01-25 23:21:09 UTC

Which we usually don't pay attention to because it's all fiction.

2019-01-25 23:21:10 UTC

Oh yeah I rememebr getting taught about the Magna Cart, Elizabeth the First.

2019-01-25 23:21:18 UTC

What do you mean it's fiction?

2019-01-25 23:21:26 UTC

I know history is determined by the victor.

2019-01-25 23:21:39 UTC

But I'd have thought they taught at least standard stuff.

2019-01-25 23:21:41 UTC

99.4% of roofers are male. 97.7% of Kindergarten teachers are female.

2019-01-25 23:21:50 UTC

It's pretty plain to see how much harder men have it. lmao.

2019-01-25 23:21:57 UTC

Gender Studies teachers*

2019-01-25 23:22:06 UTC

Let's be honest and call them what they are.

2019-01-25 23:22:11 UTC

Glorified gender studies dropouts.

2019-01-25 23:22:13 UTC

if you look at the whole list, its undeniable. no feminist could look at that list and argue for female privilege.

2019-01-25 23:22:24 UTC

You give feminists too much credit.

2019-01-25 23:22:41 UTC

I know they're retarded

2019-01-25 23:22:54 UTC

"no feminist could look at that list and argue for female privilege." That would require them to be able to use logic...

2019-01-25 23:22:59 UTC

yeah yeah yeah
