It's correlated, for sure

2020-01-19 19:18:27 UTC

I suspect it's more about the lifestyle or culture enforced by conservatism as the article suggests. Earlier marriage/child bearing increasing rate of divorce

2020-01-19 19:19:25 UTC

It’s also that Liberals, Moreso Further left, are more likely to be in Open Relationships, Polyamory, or just not get married in general

2020-01-19 19:19:53 UTC

or incels, no relationship at all lol

2020-01-19 19:20:07 UTC

But Inceldom occurs on both sides

2020-01-19 19:22:33 UTC

On one side you have “I stay in my basement and post on /pol/ why will no White Women Fuck me for the Good of the race.” And on the other, you have “M’lady, I defended you on Twitter, Donated to your Patreon, and Venmo’d you money so that you may go out and have sex with a total stranger who won’t remember your name tomorrow. May I please, perhaps have a Crumb of Pussy? I will settle for Feet Pics or a Date at Dave and Busters instead”

2020-01-19 19:23:27 UTC

And don’t even get me started on CF

2020-01-19 19:23:48 UTC

That reminds me how funny it is when Rogan rags on male feminists

2020-01-19 19:26:04 UTC

But yeah, the study did show that high divorce rates aren't completely connected with conservative or religious views

2020-01-19 19:26:26 UTC

The issue with a conservative marriage is that life can be somewhat strict. If it is a Traditional Marriage, Woman stay home, have baby, cook, etc. while the man works. And for the most part this used to work in the past, however, given shifting social norms, as well as High Skill Labor being outsourced, it becomes difficult for the Traditional Family to exist.

2020-01-19 19:26:42 UTC

On top of that, they can have a Tendency to be Controlling, Abusive, and Toxic

2020-01-19 19:26:51 UTC

Geographically, they bleed over to non-conservative and non-religious couples in the same communities

2020-01-19 19:27:30 UTC

My Ma’s Parents got Divorced (I’m not sure why and I haven’t asked) when she was really young and this was in a Rural NC Community so you can imagine the Stigma

2020-01-19 19:27:50 UTC

It’s one of the reasons she moved further East in North Carolina and didn’t go back home afterwards

2020-01-19 19:28:20 UTC

Well, once again, conservatism and religiosity aren't the whole story

2020-01-19 19:29:00 UTC

I live here in Utah, and it's a very conservative place. Yet divorce rates, per the map in the study, are much lower

2020-01-19 19:29:52 UTC

(To be fair, I live in Park City, which is a liberal enclave in Utah)

2020-01-19 19:39:24 UTC

Park City is nice from what ive heard, for the skiing that is..😄

2020-01-19 19:41:28 UTC

So how do you guys think the House and Senate play out this election?

2020-01-19 19:49:12 UTC

what possible positive impact does lowering the standards of school lunches have?

2020-01-19 19:52:53 UTC

The Virginia Bugaloo is tommarow correct.

2020-01-19 20:02:45 UTC

Yes

2020-01-19 20:02:48 UTC

Cowbunga time

2020-01-19 20:04:17 UTC

2020-01-19 20:09:20 UTC

How Congress plays out the election? The Senate keeps baiting the House to continue the impeachment farce

2020-01-19 20:10:02 UTC

I'd be more concerned about the RINOs actually going through w/the impeachment vote

2020-01-19 20:10:05 UTC

The House keeps taking the bait because they're too dumb and full of hubris to realize they've been outplayed

2020-01-19 20:10:35 UTC

Trump coasts to reelection

2020-01-19 20:10:58 UTC

Not necessarily, I think they're driven more so by demand by their constituents for impeachment. Their voters have been gnashing at the teeth for impeachment since he won and this is just throwing that crowd some meat

2020-01-19 20:11:56 UTC

Hubris would be everyone else thinking Trump will "coast" into reelection. The dems will play every single underhanded method to steal the election if they can

2020-01-19 20:12:26 UTC

Even if that's the case, it means the vocal leftist base is too dumb and full of hubris to realize they've been outplayed

2020-01-19 20:12:35 UTC

The result will be the same

2020-01-19 20:13:16 UTC

The longer impeachment plays out, the more likely it is that Trump wins

2020-01-19 20:15:09 UTC

That would be the best case scenario, but I wouldn't put that into the bank just yet. You're missing their trap card, mysteriously missing ballot boxes and surprising new ballot boxes all voting for Dem by coincidence!

2020-01-19 20:16:52 UTC

That's a little conspiratorial for my taste

2020-01-19 20:17:44 UTC

Not saying it wouldn't happen, but it introduces too many new variables to make a decent argument about

2020-01-19 20:18:17 UTC

They always boast that Hillary won the popular vote by 3mil votes. But how many of those votes were illegal immigrants. Considering there are roughly 12mil illegal immigrants in America. A huge amount of them probably were.

2020-01-19 20:18:37 UTC

And 12mil is being generous

2020-01-19 20:19:01 UTC

@UnScottable literally all of those votes were from the Communist Republic of California

2020-01-19 20:19:23 UTC

<:trumpepe:588019356215279642>

2020-01-19 20:20:02 UTC

It was conspiratorial initially when it was proposed the DNC had it on the outs against Bernie. Or that they gave Clinton Qs in advance prior to the debates... only for both to be proven true. Along w/that, conspiratorial that PR held aid from their own ppl to make Trump look bad. Trump pointed out the corruption, he gets uber pinocchio nose for 'lying/fake news'. Fast forward to today, oh look, supplies and aid locked up in storage houses AWAY from the ppl. The list keeps going.
