Cali should be a vassal of some deep red state

2020-02-20 11:25:55 UTC

They need to vote for us tbh

2020-02-20 11:26:01 UTC

Indeed, @DrWittMDPhD. The EC is vital to our Republic.

2020-02-20 11:26:03 UTC

trump moved from dem to rep in 2016
now theyre using the opposite tactic of having the most stereotypical conservative run for democrat lead

WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE

2020-02-20 11:26:07 UTC

||shut up they don't get mad if you point out the intent||

2020-02-20 11:26:11 UTC

Also sayemi is a liar every time he says he's going to sleep

2020-02-20 11:26:18 UTC

Cali should have hard border with USA

2020-02-20 11:26:26 UTC

2020-02-20 11:26:39 UTC

xenon can you help me

2020-02-20 11:26:42 UTC

No just invade us, give and on your way into LA give guns to the red district lads and we'll help you

2020-02-20 11:26:50 UTC

If you want to strip Cali. of influence, dispose of the 17th Amendment, and they'll no longer be able to influence elections outside their State.

2020-02-20 11:27:12 UTC

wewlad

2020-02-20 11:27:14 UTC

It'll make it extremely difficult for anyone to influence external States.

2020-02-20 11:27:16 UTC

Depends, do I need to expend calories?

2020-02-20 11:27:22 UTC

not really

2020-02-20 11:27:26 UTC

i can explain in dms

2020-02-20 11:28:23 UTC

just turn cali into a crater the world would be better for it

2020-02-20 11:28:28 UTC

So from what I'm reading, the 17th blasted whatever EC like election system the senators used in their own states?

2020-02-20 11:28:42 UTC

Which I am fond of, by the way (repealing the 17th). Self-government is only retained when you decentralize, the reason the Framer's ensured Senators were appointed by the State legislature of which the seat is to be filled, required to be a district-level representative ascendant to the higher chamber.

2020-02-20 11:29:32 UTC

Well rip. Time to strike that one down

2020-02-20 11:29:40 UTC

Also the 19th while we're at it

2020-02-20 11:31:17 UTC

<#678530619621507073> ^

2020-02-20 11:31:33 UTC

It'd be attractive to both left and right.

2020-02-20 11:32:14 UTC

Feel free to read my screenshot, from my previous conversation, and you'll get an in-depth understanding of it - first link.

2020-02-20 11:33:36 UTC

I think I already understand it without really looking. I already think the EC is the big sexy, and hate popular vote, so extending this to California where my red district is raped by LA and SD is the same shit

2020-02-20 11:34:11 UTC

What spawned the conversation was the feeling people have, currently, with distant Senators legislating with no connection to the interests on the district-level.

2020-02-20 11:35:26 UTC

Yeah, @DrWittMDPhD, the key is understanding it in-depth, so you can explain it to others and sway them to support the position.

2020-02-20 11:35:52 UTC

Yeah I already understand the EC argument after having to rationalize it and learn why I was so wrong about it Pre-Trump

2020-02-20 11:36:04 UTC

Unfortunately, we don't have much of a base outside the conservative aisle for rolling back the 17th, because we're not making arguments that also appeal to the left, to everyone.

2020-02-20 11:37:04 UTC

Well, it functions similar to the EC, in that it provides for a Republican mechanic, but how it impacts the government is vastly different, arguably more important than the EC.
