2020-02-21 07:17:52 UTC

Cats?

2020-02-21 07:18:12 UTC

On an aside, we've (humanity) got a foot into becoming the Borg.

2020-02-21 07:18:41 UTC

Because once the united states becomes socialist, the programs will fail horribly. Then the government will put more socialism in trying to fix it. Then that fails. Etc. Until its Venezuela where every single political figure is socialist or communist and any replacement of one person brings another socialist/communist.

2020-02-21 07:19:21 UTC

Then naturally the united states will shrink in power.

2020-02-21 07:20:08 UTC

Except we're a much more disparate nation.. and it's gonna take a helluva lot more to completely shatter it. Look at the debacle of Obamacare.

2020-02-21 07:20:22 UTC

Yet it's still there.

2020-02-21 07:20:43 UTC

And every democrat wants to expand it.

2020-02-21 07:21:26 UTC

Governments never shrink. Once the democrats win an election we are stuck with their policies and mindset.

2020-02-21 07:21:32 UTC

It's been reduced piecemeal, perhaps not as rapidly as one would like.. but partially dismantled.

2020-02-21 07:22:05 UTC

And there has been *significant* reductions on regulatory overruns.

2020-02-21 07:22:35 UTC

It's been slowing down new regulations not removing current ones.

2020-02-21 07:23:28 UTC

For example the tax code needs only to be 15 pages long at most.

2020-02-21 07:24:04 UTC

Yet it's in the 10s of thousands, and every page will never be removed.

2020-02-21 07:25:03 UTC

Or medical regulations, they should/could be cut by 95 percent and drug prices would lower massively.

2020-02-21 07:25:22 UTC

Yet you miss that many many others *have* been removed.

2020-02-21 07:25:35 UTC

. 1 percent at most.

2020-02-21 07:25:48 UTC

With a growth of 4 percent

2020-02-21 07:26:33 UTC

most medicine is bullshit anyway.

2020-02-21 07:26:48 UTC

the vast majority of medicine won't help you.

2020-02-21 07:27:11 UTC

it's mostly psychological

2020-02-21 07:27:38 UTC

I'm a constitution-liberty-pro empire-ist.

2020-02-21 07:27:48 UTC

good

2020-02-21 07:27:54 UTC

is there even anything else?

2020-02-21 07:28:10 UTC

Mix of constitutionalist libertarianism and pro empire.

2020-02-21 07:28:11 UTC

like, exepct anarcho-monarcists.

2020-02-21 07:28:38 UTC

But libertarian only on economics and only some other issues.

2020-02-21 07:29:32 UTC

@Laucivol what do you think will happen when a socialist takes power?

2020-02-21 07:29:54 UTC

You seem hopeful.

2020-02-21 07:33:52 UTC

Well, due to the nature of how the system is set up, he or she will be limited by the other branches. The system takes time to get into gear one way or the other.

Look at what happened in Virginia... or in Washington state before that.

2020-02-21 07:34:39 UTC

So you think that seperation of powers will always hold socialism back?

2020-02-21 07:35:07 UTC

so far vemon is cool

2020-02-21 07:35:14 UTC

but there are starting to throw in some slight sexual jokes

2020-02-21 07:35:16 UTC

In the foreseeable future, it'll keep it under some limitations.

2020-02-21 07:35:17 UTC

i may have been wrong

2020-02-21 07:35:49 UTC

Don't get me wrong, though, it's not all sunshine and daisies.

2020-02-21 07:36:26 UTC

It's just that I'm more optimistic about the robustness of our system against those influences.

2020-02-21 07:37:03 UTC

Well I do believe that we can get through it I don't think it'll be as easy as "seperation of powers"

2020-02-21 07:38:36 UTC

Oh, "our system" has more stress on the *our* part than I indicated.
