even kids whos parents are from india or whatever
Why would people have an identity about a place they haven't lived in 200 years?
people have pride in their states, cities, neighborhoods etc here
they always say that when they go to whatever place they were from originally people can tell how american they are
exactly
its so funny
Well no shit they can tell
they are Americans
they grew up and live there
>people have pride in their states, cities, neighborhoods etc here
this is a good point
i really like this
you can't expect someone who comes from an Italian American family to walk into Italy and just fit in
that makes no sense
different cultures totally
I personally have pride in my part of the nation that I won't name here
and my town
the people who built it and great people who came from here
i don't feel like I a lack an identity at all
and thats natural
to associate with your group
but that's because we moved here and made our own history and culture dude
thats what i meant by americans not having much ethnic identity
you might associate with that ethnic background to separate yourelf from others
actually
i take that back
I'm not really sure what you're trying to say
I get it kind of
yeah im backpedaling rn
ok i reread your thing
i think i view "ethnicity" differently than you do
oooooh
>I would not consider an Englishman and a German two separate ethnicities or races
different ethnic groups, same race
yes
I mixed that up
no prob
im pretty tired rn anyways
I mean to say that people who say that "Oh you have German and English in you MUTT!" are dumb
it's some stormfag shit
i say mutt not as in a literal mutt
a mutt is someone who is two races mixed
