It's big for a 4banger, tiny in displacement for a truck

I'm willing to bet it will make torque far easier than the 2.7 ecoboost

For a 4 cylinder, low revving turbo engine, that's huge

And it doesn't even make much boost

For a base truck engine, it's a massive improvement over the 4.3L V6

I'd trust the robustness of that 4.3 more over the new 4cyl

I like this direction for truck engines though.

Mid displacement, low boost, high compression.

Be interesting to see what they replace the 5.3 ecotec with. Probably either a small V8 or a large V6 turbo
