I want my engine to crawl me up a cliff face at idle
Well you aint getting that.
Hell the old raptor couldnt do that
Even ignoring the exaggeration
Not exactly an exaggeration, more like 45` rocky slope
I mean the ecoboost is torquey af.
510lb ft at, what 2000rpm.
And something like 70% of that arrives at 1500rpm
Gimme dat shit at *500*
Sure.
Just find a truck with a 10.0L
Big 'ol Cadillac 500CI with an RV cam in 'er
I mean shit, the 6.2 raptor made _maybe_ 250lbs at 2000rpm
Okay too pessimistic
Probably like 320
For torque, the turbo is an improvement
I really think they need to make the raptor a diesel tho.
Gimme a 400hp, 700lb ft 6.0 twin turbodiesel v8 and i'm good
Would beat na gasser torque any day
oh, yeah no doubt
400 lb/ft of torque from 1150rpm
http://www.duramaxhub.com/gas/gm-8.1-vortec-l18.html
pathetic
the mp10 beats it
Yeah, but I can get a Vortec 8.1 for $500
@LOGiK point of the 8.1 wasnt purely tirque. It was tirque and cist effectiveness
I'm assuming here but if they're that cheap it suggests there's some issue with their application
Fucking touchscreen
Or it suggests they made a ton and they are easy to maintain/fix
@LOGiK Nah, most people just want the 6.2, and their application was limited to RVs mostly, which get junked all the time
They did have it in the 2500 for a bit tho
The silverado
It was an obscure option that wasn't necessary for most folks. It was the gas alternative to the Duramax
About the same time the 8.0 v10 was a thing for ramiirc
Yep. All gas alternatives. Same price as the diesel options
Or was it 8.3?
Thing is, at that point the diesel is the better option.
Right lol which is why they weren't popular
Is a shame. Those big gassers are neat
Especially the ram v10.
Did ford have a big gasser equivalent? @Fitzydog
