3rd party is the money
And even then mtg has begun stabbing that
Are you relating this to loot boxes?
or is it random?
Reprinting them to valueless
Loot crates are similar for the ones with a 3rd party market yes
They release new ones and retire old ones all the time.
This will be used as a defense for any lawsuit against lootboxes and it will almost guaranteed, win.
No i am meaning rereleasing old ones
I just think it is a non issue that puritan busy bodies who always wanna bitch about something are bitching about.
it kills the value of the old ones on the 3rd party market
Rare is rare. *shrug*
I don't think some cards were reprinted and not only maintain their value, but it is increasing.
I still have my cards from the 90s XD
Yea but take a card that printed in the 90s. worth 120 on the 3rd party market. Reprenting drops that to 30 or less
because now there are far more in the market
Not when they're dated as original.
And most cards are dated.
Reprinting does devalue, but often times the original maintains its' value.
Both are legal in all the same formats
All I'm saying is do you wanna buy the cards or not kid!?
XD
Gotta remember, most cards that have a high price are sought by collectors, rather than players.
Not true
A lot of players care about originals.
Trust me. My whole collectiom got value gutted with the modern masters series
I know because I was in that community at one point.
Well, value will go down if a card is reprinted much later.
Overall value, but that's just an average.
That is true, but some cards aren't reprinted, and even then after that series ends it will often stabilize.
Collectors will still pay top dollar for originals.
Yup
Or older ones.
Collectors are a small portion
Plus
Consider this...
without them that 120 card would be 10
If a card is reprinted it can still be used in normal play (I have no idea how many versions they have now) which means they can get the more rare card for some sort of status.
Which is what I used to see.
And the price is set by any other price, supply and demand.
