17th amendment was a mistake
If furries identify as animals is it wrong if you use the meat to feed the poor?
14th and 17th were mistakes
@DanConway A modest proposal, some would say
everything after 10...
They could have given slave children and natives citizenship via law
and 13 fine....
Eh the 22nd is fine
@Legiondude This is why I'm against making the House of Lords an elected house in the UK, because having two elected bodies just fucks the system up
Basically
We modeled our congress off the uk system. The senate was supposed to be essentially our house of lords
Also isnt a title like lord given? How do you vote that shit?
Lords was a mistake.
You don't, that's the problem
There's an entire house of the UK government that is predominantly unaccountable
Senate used to be by appointment of the state
But making it elected wouldn't be any better
I know. But how do they propose to vote that?
From the state legislatures no less
much superior method
Yes
Well actually reverse
Governor appointed. State legeslature approved
ah ok had it backward
Like a cabinet position
Still superior
it makes sense
The idea of the House of Lords is good - experts in their field appointed to provide their expertise
Partly why states still have govs appoint the replacements
almost like it was a system of checks and balances...
Plus religious leaders
Even if its via title the house of lords represent the landowners (states of uk)
Not in the slightest
You have to remember back when it was made
Lords were the landowners
It changed sense then
When they were made yes, certainly
But it's so outdated now
So in essence that was what our senate and house were
That makes sense
