I thought that was just a joke, didn't think people actually spoke like that
@Capitán Alatriste lol yeah dude, Canadian accents are hilarious
@Capitán Alatriste he's faking it
It's more of an "A-boat"
(Canadian redneck example)
That's a yikes from me dog
kek
Alberta is the real Canada
CANADIANS DON'T SAY ABOOT
HOW DO YOU GET THAT FROM OUR ACCENT?
UNLESS YOU'RE SPEAKING TO A HOSER... BUT THEN WHAT HOSER ARE YOU SPEAKING TO?
@AlephKnoll Ah-boat

Real talk though, the bilingual requirement of politicians in Canada is dumb. ```
guess who we have to thank for that and which history we weren't taught in school...
one "good" thing about it is that it kept Qc happy about staying in canada. had they all have to learn english just to compete in the political sphere (and Quebs are intelectuals for the most part) - they would have lost their cultural identity.. if you go to Qc, especially northern Qc, they don't really speak english...
on the other hand, right next door, the Acadiens have lost their distinct language and most of their culture because they've been shoved bilingualism is our strenght in school. - yeah, speaking 2 languages comfortably is a strenght, but at the cost of your culture, heritage and all the skills that come from the old ways.. like building yourself a house and growing a garden.
just get some credit and go to the cities, son... there's plenty of opportunities for smart bilinguals
I'm not saying you should be bilingual.
if you want to be unilingual french and try to become prime minister, go ahead - ain't no one from the anglos gon' vote for you
in fact, I think qubecois should be uniligual.
whats the difference if we hear english words from a french person, or french words through an english translator?
they mean the same thing either way.
doesn't matter
exactly.
as long as it's not... you know
Your mistake was allowing the French to not assimilate.
our mistake of socialism without protectionism was the bad idea
😂
lol
sorry
eh
