Oh
So what is
<:pepe_sweat:378719424548569088>
<:think_madpepe:378717098630971395>
what were talking about again?
@Fitzydog also I literally grew up in churches and religious families and circles, but no one wanted to change science with religion
I'm about to eat dinner, and I don't think people here want me to go on an hour long rant filling up <#372507611284766722>
Why should that change?
Yeah I'm probably not ready either at 3 am lol
Where I grew up, science was considered 'at odds' with religion
People only shoehorned in what they felt was compatible with what the bible said, in a literal reading
Also, *literal* extra dimensional bearded sky-daddy on a throne.
Who alive today is most likely to be god?
You are the god in your own life?
But your not omnipotent
But I hate myself? Is that consistent with the religious text regarding god?
'God' is an anthropomorphized ideal that is emergent from the collective unconcious of society
I got into the"skeptic" part of YouTube by debating them
Inb4 lol I m so depresed imma kms
But I don't think those two are the only outcomes, atheist and anti science tards
Fuck the greeks.
It sounds like fundamentalists really poisoned your outlook early on Fitzy
Literally.. they're hot.
@AlephKnoll Like ""hatehimselfues"
I'm just saying, that there's less and less room for a physical deity as our conception of reality is more fleshed out, and that we have to expand on the metaphysical implications of religion more
Hmm
Looking more inward (not in an egotistical way), but broadly across all humans
Well, being real is really limiting.
What if religion is just a cutdown version of a prehistoric civilization who found out the true creation of life many thousands of years ago, but most detailed explanations of it have been destroyed after a civilization destroying event 12000 years ago, leaving nothing but the most primitive explanation?
What like the B plot of Assassin's Creed?
And our modern religions evolved out of that
tbh, the "divine spark" of consciousness is less understood and more mystical than the creation of the universe ever could be
I've never plaid any AC game other than the American Revolution one.
what if people were stupid back then and we are still stupid now, but we have videogames now?
Yeah, the B plot is that figures like the Greco-Roman gods were actually figures of a prehistorical supertechnologically advanced civilization until a solar flare nuked their society. The only remnants were their human minions who took the Apples of Eden
People were smart, but in a more primative way.
@Trebjonn Some would argue that the Modernist lens we look through nowadays blinds us to the metaphysical perspectives medieval thinkers carried with them
@Legiondude Well, thats because they didnt have videogames
