The gender or sexual preference does not make a good character

For all I care they can make a trans black crippled superhero, as long as the character is good and the story is good

But yeah god damn

I saw Captain Marvel yesterday and although I cringed at the feminist parts a lot

I don’t think it falls below a 6 on the score list

It’s just adequate

Marvel formula

+ Brie’s activism which you can clearly see

if the defining thing about your character is that is gay, then it a shit character and you need to go back and redo it

There is a lot I’d have changed about the movie though

Like the Maria Rambeau parts, which could’ve used a lot more attention imo

Hell, just start the movie off with Vers, a stern Kree commander that has purged countless skrull worlds

Then through her capture by skrulls and crash landing on earth, she starts opening up and learns to be human

And finds out she is actually from there and discovers her entire identity has been a lie

She reconnects with her old friend, meets new friends along the way, etc etc

And at the end, she leaves to help the skrulls AND make amends for all the horrible shit she’s done while she was with the Kree

That’s good character motivation imo

As for the Monica Rambeau parts

@Nordhand Agreed. Theres a difference between having a gay character, and having a character who is also gay.

Have Rambeau help her piece back her memories

And at the end Carol is free-spirited and enjoys the company of her new friends

Hell, have her sing karaoke with her friend again since we saw that in the flashbacks

And have Fury lose his eye because a skrull fucking stabbed it out like it should have been

As for the villains, have the Supreme Intelligence be the main villain by mindcontrolling Starforce through their implants

I'm still pissed that there's brown and black people in Asgard

I don’t really mind it on Asgard as much

Most people don't. Probably because we're all brainwashed

It wasn’t something that was done for specific reasons and it doesn’t really stand out that much
