I agree that being a bit too blunt in your jokes without some indication to the average person that they are in fact jokes can be pretty bad when you're dealing with the public

I think the funny part of that tweet was the bluntness of the tweet

if you don't find the straightforward nature of that tweet funny, then the it won't seem like a joke to you
