Cancer is caused by environmental factors as much as genetics and inhaling carcinogens cant help at all

2019-10-25 01:17:46 UTC

nah my mom doesn't smoke

2019-10-25 01:17:56 UTC

she had a stomach ulcer that was operated in May

2019-10-25 01:18:02 UTC

That must be a special type of cancer then. Most cancers are almost entirely environmental

2019-10-25 01:18:02 UTC

but they never found any cancer

2019-10-25 01:18:15 UTC

I was referring to my need to stop smoking but yeah I know

2019-10-25 01:18:30 UTC

I googled the survival rates. From what I can tell, she is not stage 1, but her survival rate is probably 60% or higher if she ovary tumors are not cancerous which probably says a lot about the cancer.

2019-10-25 01:18:51 UTC

Or I didn't know she wasn't a smoker I just assumed smoking wasn't related to stomach cancer

2019-10-25 01:19:26 UTC

i was told that there's a possibility i'd develop the same stomach cancer too

2019-10-25 01:19:38 UTC

there are lots of things which cause cancer

2019-10-25 01:19:45 UTC

some of it is caused by a virus or bacteria

2019-10-25 01:19:52 UTC

which is why cancer has never been cured

2019-10-25 01:19:55 UTC

it is a catch all term

2019-10-25 01:20:08 UTC

and because of how it spreads it probably can't be cured

2019-10-25 01:20:11 UTC

Faith is really important for times like this. I won't quote any studies, but people need something to anchor to this reality.

2019-10-25 01:20:17 UTC

at best it will become something like Diabetes

2019-10-25 01:20:26 UTC

which can be managed with drugs and treatment

2019-10-25 01:20:45 UTC

I'm a biology major. I know about cancer. Her chances are pretty good, my guy.

2019-10-25 01:20:57 UTC

hey if you say so dude

2019-10-25 01:21:00 UTC

yes, you must find strength in something and transfer it to your mum

2019-10-25 01:21:03 UTC

what about with no treatment?

2019-10-25 01:21:14 UTC

I heard life expectancy was like a year or two

2019-10-25 01:21:21 UTC

@Banjod quit posting on chan<:goldpill:626276664837537833> <:varg:552804477590044674>

2019-10-25 01:21:22 UTC

and with treatment it could be like 5 years

2019-10-25 01:21:24 UTC

Is that lymphoma then

2019-10-25 01:21:40 UTC

I don't think she has lymphoma

2019-10-25 01:21:42 UTC

Non hodgkins

2019-10-25 01:21:51 UTC

Are they treating her with anything? If they just want a surgery, that says a lot. Her odds are good.

2019-10-25 01:21:51 UTC

but Lymphoma is a type of cancer

2019-10-25 01:22:08 UTC

That's the one with the highest probability of overcoming the disease

2019-10-25 01:22:15 UTC

@Hector they only mentioned surgery but said she is too weak for surgery right now

2019-10-25 01:22:31 UTC

and they said that they wouldn't try chemo because she is too weak

2019-10-25 01:22:39 UTC

and said that chemo isn't really an option anyway

2019-10-25 01:22:42 UTC

I would be pretty happy with whatever stage she is at if they just want a surgery.

2019-10-25 01:22:44 UTC

but yeah they just said surgery

2019-10-25 01:22:50 UTC

to identify it and then to remove it

2019-10-25 01:23:00 UTC

but they also said sometimes surgery makes it spread

2019-10-25 01:23:03 UTC

which... wtf???

2019-10-25 01:23:06 UTC

Then they have to make her get stronger

2019-10-25 01:23:21 UTC

that is my thought

2019-10-25 01:23:38 UTC

If there was a cure to cancer then the mortality rate would be 0
