it can manifest itself against cultural trends @Hector

2019-11-02 04:55:26 UTC

its about trajectories and tendencies

AOC racializing climate change

The Geology of Morals is the most accessible and covering a broad range on the morality topic. Though Anti Christi might be a better critique of Christianity.

to Nietzsche, you can certainly have Chad Christians, but if they're Chad, they're not really good Christians

2019-11-02 04:56:44 UTC

The way Eastern Europeans are Chad Christians. They don't take it seriously. It's just a social club.

2019-11-02 04:56:44 UTC

you can have smaller moral systems and principles within broader contexts and trends

2019-11-02 04:56:58 UTC

I really don't respect many philosophers after the Enlightenment, including Nietzsche, sorry.

2019-11-02 04:57:01 UTC

its not that master morality HAS to be opposed to christianity

2019-11-02 04:57:10 UTC

but it tends to end up like that

2019-11-02 04:57:15 UTC

"the weak shall inherit the earth"

2019-11-02 04:57:15 UTC

Christianity should be like Santa Clause where people grow out of it at a certain age.

2019-11-02 04:57:20 UTC

the "meek"

2019-11-02 04:57:28 UTC

yeah it has that fundamental outlook

2019-11-02 04:57:30 UTC

egalitarian

2019-11-02 04:57:33 UTC

anti-aristocratic

2019-11-02 04:57:37 UTC

universalizing

2019-11-02 04:57:45 UTC

Nietzsche is far wiser than most pre-enlightenment philosophers

2019-11-02 04:57:49 UTC

if you dont appreciate him its your loss

2019-11-02 04:57:54 UTC

I think the meek will actually inhert the earth though. I think it is more of a prediction

2019-11-02 04:58:03 UTC

You should actually read his books

2019-11-02 04:58:03 UTC

I value him way more than any medieval philosopher

2019-11-02 04:58:13 UTC

tbh you'd have to go back to the ancients to find someone as interesting

2019-11-02 04:58:14 UTC

imo

2019-11-02 04:58:39 UTC

Nah, 90% of the stuff after the Enlightenment is gay.

2019-11-02 04:58:48 UTC

Universalism is a good way to get everyone under the same umbrella and create an empire though.

2019-11-02 04:58:50 UTC

I am a reactionary.

2019-11-02 04:59:08 UTC

we aren't talking about postenlightenment thought vs preenlightenment thought lol, we're just talking about one guy

2019-11-02 04:59:41 UTC

Heraclitus or nothing

2019-11-02 04:59:44 UTC

I do not like him. I am grouping him in the post-enlightenment. @Nerthulas

2019-11-02 04:59:58 UTC

@Trommm yeah that's the thing is that chadness (master morality) *can* surface anywhere, and because of its natural power, it can dominate power structures that are fundamentally more 'slavish'

2019-11-02 05:00:13 UTC

btw Nietzsche called Jesus himself a free spirit

2019-11-02 05:00:26 UTC

Bureaucracy is slavish

2019-11-02 05:00:29 UTC

Mostly slaves in it

2019-11-02 05:00:30 UTC

master morality is just pure evolutionary morality... its the morality that successful intelligent beings would naturally evolve

2019-11-02 05:00:30 UTC

yep

2019-11-02 05:00:43 UTC

The master mentality is a risk taker

2019-11-02 05:00:45 UTC

Because everything about master morality rewards strength

2019-11-02 05:00:46 UTC

High agency
