1. The changes in social systems, social norms, public morality, education, access to substances, and urban life brought about by the Industrial Revolution must be admitted to be conditions which are extremely different from the world before, and so must certainly produce differences in the psyches and behavior of humans, independently of whether the genome is shifting significantly with respect to inclination to those behaviors.
