Yeah I agree
Maybe I'll reread it, I haven't read any EU book since like 2013 or something
Would probably be pretty refreshing after all the garbage of the last couple of years
Might reread it as well tbh
I don't remember much except that awesome scene where they go to the space illuminatis version of the bohemian Grove
I was actually thinking about reading a few of my favorites one day and searching for right wing ideas
One of the things that I don't think would even be written now is how Grand Admiral Thrawn studies the art of various species, and then does battle with them based on the limitations of their psychology that he learns from their art
Which is an utterly racist idea
Very racist
and I doubt anyone could even write something like that now
Well you can get away with being racist in fantasy and sci fi
People only have a block against human diversity
But animal or aliens or orcs or elves
That's just common sense they would be different
They adapted under different conditions than us DUH
(but people evolved under different conditions on Earth to)

Ha
Oldman bad
I read so many of the books
ohh
I only really remember the EU from the video games and the two or three Star Wars encyclopedias I had
I always will have a soft spot for the mandoa and the clones
The republican commando book serie is much better then the clone wars TV serie.
Let's be fair though a good 90% of the EU is probably garbage
There's 10% that is really good and then there is The Crystal Star
@Vulpes Never read the books
I’ve heard the author is kind of a jerk in some respects
I mostly liked the first one, I think the Republic Commando books got worse as they went on
Of repubican commando? well don't know about that. What I mainly liked about those books was that it explord the clone troopers in a much more interesting way then the clone wars TV serie and wasn't praising the republic on a constant basis
Also some Star Wars fans aren’t impressed with her writings as she sometimes contradicts established lore to tell her stories iirc
>established lore in the EU
this always was a difficult subject
yeah it's kind of a grey area what is even "correct"
One thing I will always rue Disney for is the erasure of Kyle Katarn though
aye
Also just the Death Star plan plot in general was so much better in the EU
The plans were actually separate parts that spies and agents from different Rebel cells had to obtain and bring together
It’d be kind of dumb for the Empire to contain the plans on a single data disk or whatever, completely assembled and ready to go, which is what happened in Rogue One iirc
Star wars EU had it's major flaws, but imo it produced enought gold to be worth it
Shit, I bought the French gas mask by accident.
