Yeah I don't think it's too clear
ROCOR broke it off but Constantinople hasn't or something like that, and they're all in communion with the other churches in the eastern orthodox communion
Every priest I asked wasn't 100% sure
Said they'll see what the bishop says
So we're in a very weird position that isn't complete chaos
the relationship is just
strained
Hopefully Bartholomew backs down
I liked the EP just for its historical position and historicity is what originally drew me to Orthodoxy
That is until I saw the icons and all doubts I had suddenly vanished..
Icons were what drew me in in the first place
I thought icons were just paintings
Then as I kept digging, the better and juicier everything was
Beautiful artwork but just artwork, seeing one changed my perception
Not just one, lol
One that particularly caught my attention was of Emperor Constantine and Helena
@ what denom are you?
@Quarantine_Zone grew up Pentecostal
And now?
Also, AoG? Which branch of Pentecostal?
Now going into Orthodoxy
Not officially a catechumen yet though
I assume ROCOR
I am leaning ROCOR yeah
I like Antiochians too, though
They are under Greece these days yeah?
Or autocephalous, but follow Greek tradition?
Antiochians are autocephalous
I think they do follow the Greek tradition, their churches seem similarly structured
I find it comedic when EO or RCC talk about the 10 Gajillion prot denoms, when, in reality, a lot of supposedly different denoms are way closer to each other than various traditions and/or schools or RCC and EO
On the surface level, yeah
Like Mollinists and Thomists are so different, they would certainly be different prot denoms technically
But there are very minute differences that truly matter theologically that cause proper schism
Such as two words
Filioque
Ruined Christendom
There is so much more than that
Filioque caused postmodernism
not even joking
Filioque is only one piece of the puzzle
