If I ever have some money I want to set up physical locales for my future org
Lodges, chapterhouses, I want a headquarters with plenty of acreage for tradfun like shooting ranges and farming
Solid plan, that.
I need to get my trads to join a shooting club, sometime.
I want active boots on the ground
Assisting church events, charity projects
Propagation of patristics
Where abouts in the world are you?
Sound like you're preparing for battle, almost.
Spiritual battle
USA, Midwest
Potential co founders on the west coast and in the UK
Topkek. In my Spanish class (at uber-lib uni), we discussed oppression in class to practice language about the socio-political world and then a question on a quiz was about whether stable governments are able to have unopressed citizens and people answered "no" b/c lib propoganda when the answer was "yes."
lol
see that's why I won't use Spanish in spite of liking it as a language
I live up by the great lakes, any spic this far north near me can speak English or go the fuck back to Mexico
Yeah, I hate taking Spanish rn. I wish I could be learning a Biblical language, Latin, or German
I'm beginning to casually amateurly study french
I have some knowledge of Latin, Spanish, tiny bit of German and Russian already
t. Studied Russian in college, can barely speak it
Taught myself Russian at age 14
Local Russians here say my speech is perfect
Autism is a gift
I can speak fine. I just don't know many words
I end up stumbling through my sentences
I don't know any Russian, but I live in MI, so I would never use it. I would like to learn Arabic; my mom's side of the family is Lebanese (Syriac Ordos), so they learned Arabic growing up despite living in MI
Is the Syriac tradition closer to EO than Copts? Both are OO, but I know Ethiopians are the wonkiest.
My maternal family is WAS-Dutch-German and my paternal family is Rhenish Franco-German so my main ancestral picks are German, French, or Dutch
Syriac is its own rite and it is present in uniatism, orthodoxy, miaphysitism, and nestorianism
I meant moreso the OO Syriacs
I don't think so but I can't really make an educated statement
which are miaphysite
Dant, do you know?
I know you have a hard on for the middle east
I've visited a Syriac Orthodox Church multiple times
What's the question exactly?
"Is the Syriac tradition closer to EO than Copts? Both are OO, but I know Ethiopians are the wonkiest."
Its hard to say as I haven't look at their theology specifically. Their services are done in Aramaic, the language of Christ
Their divine liturgy is noticably different as well.
Yeah, I've been to a wedding and it was all Aramaic.
Also I don't have a hard on for the Middle East, I have a deep reverence for Orthodox churches of Middle East tradition because that is where Christ and thus Chrsitanity had its start
Greeks here are not as friendly
Anybody ever interacted with Nestorian Church of the East before?
Yes
But the person I have interacted is an autistic western convert so IDK how well he represents their beliefs
