Is there something that caused this argument, other than Constantinople wanting more influence in Ukraine?

2018-09-28 13:51:20 UTC

Yeah, some Ukrainians schisming claiming to be autocephalous

2018-09-28 15:01:02 UTC

@Romanus Drevo not just claims, Ukraine *is* under Moscow's authority, and Moscow is a completely independent entity from Constantinople despite sharing the Orthodox faith.

2018-09-28 15:15:18 UTC

I think, despite everything, I'm glad I'm Catholic and not Orthodox.

2018-09-28 15:27:47 UTC

Yeah maybe I should convert, I'd rather deal with innumerable faggots and child predators than a territorial dispute. Idk if I can handle this one.

2018-09-28 15:38:29 UTC

It's less confusing who's right and who's wrong.

2018-09-28 15:38:33 UTC

That's what I meant.

2018-09-28 15:38:58 UTC

And also, since we have a Pope to appoint bishops, we would never have this kind of problem.

2018-09-28 15:39:45 UTC

This issue isn't confusing at all. We have a patriarch overstepping his bounds and being opposed.
And we have a patriarch defending the canonical status of things.

2018-09-28 15:40:23 UTC

Fine. I'll take your word for it.

2018-09-28 16:55:05 UTC

I'd rather deal with political disputes than gangrene

2018-09-28 16:56:47 UTC

Remember when wars were about territory, rather than open borders migration CIA-supported liberal NGOs jew world order cancer?

2018-09-28 17:38:52 UTC

Only 1800's kids will remember.

2018-09-28 17:39:18 UTC

And I kinda get where you're coming from Daniil, but do you not see that as one of the fundamental issues with Orthodoxy?

2018-09-28 17:39:31 UTC

Alot of its issues are exactly that. Political.

2018-09-28 17:40:27 UTC

Clearly just the Gadolig talking, but to me that says the church is invested in this Kingdom a bit more than the one that should be of greater focus.

2018-09-28 17:42:04 UTC

This kind of stuff has happened since the first century of the church, big deal, at least we're not taking it up the rear from jews, Muslims, or our own pedophile priests (we don't really have almost any)

2018-09-28 17:42:57 UTC

We each have our problems. We each have mistakes to fix, enemies to fight, however you want to phrase it. We must all follow God's will.

2018-09-28 17:43:32 UTC

And I can say definitively that it is not God's will for us to sling mud at each other while both Catholic and Orthodox are being torn apart.

2018-09-28 17:48:45 UTC

We're not torn apart, though. There is truth and there is untruth

2018-09-28 17:49:00 UTC

One could say that of the Catholic Church as well.

2018-09-28 17:49:12 UTC

But people don't always recognize what is truth, and what is not.

2018-09-28 17:51:58 UTC

^ Ain't that the truth.

2018-09-28 17:52:01 UTC

No pun intended.

2018-09-28 18:00:04 UTC

I know its an issue. Nobody said the church is perfect or was designed to be perfect. All Im saying is that I'd rather have my set of problems over the RCC's

2018-09-28 18:03:23 UTC

And that's just fine. We'll deal with our problems, with God's help.

2018-09-28 18:04:47 UTC

Very well.

2018-09-28 18:04:47 UTC

Amen

2018-09-28 18:05:06 UTC

Fun fact. I drew that varangian like 5 years ago

2018-09-28 18:05:37 UTC

I have made my decision and I feel as though my faith in the church faltering because or her men would be something..... irreconciliable... to myself.

2018-09-28 18:11:51 UTC

Im out of suggestions for Catholics tbh

2018-09-28 18:12:08 UTC

I can defend someone else's church only for so long.
All I can say is hang in there.

2018-09-28 18:13:54 UTC

Short of revolution, not a huge amount can be done at this point.

2018-09-28 18:14:08 UTC

The problem with that being that revolutions are antithetical to traditionalism.

2018-09-28 18:15:04 UTC

Otherwise, within the next decade or so, most of the high-up sinister elements will have left the mortal coil.

2018-09-28 18:15:43 UTC

As for Bergoglio, that just screams to me louder than ever that the church has never had a formal set of rules for the deposition of a Pope.

2018-09-28 18:15:50 UTC

Probably should do something about that.

2018-09-28 18:18:26 UTC

Should we, though?

2018-09-28 18:18:42 UTC

Daniil's right. The best idea is to hang in there.

2018-09-28 18:19:18 UTC

I don't mean right away

2018-09-28 18:19:24 UTC

But it's a fac
