Churches have everything to do with how they are born. That is what defines them

Otherwise people constantly make up excuses for a church or religion, like the mormons do. People are just so ashamed of how their church came to be that they try to do some damage control and try to avoid people focusing on it

I highly recommend Guenon

His writing is a lot of what helped lead Fr Seraphim Rose to begome

One part being that Guenon highly emphasised returning to the most Orthodox form of a religion in any tradition

So he went to Russia to begome and was inspired by the holy spirit to graduate top in his class in seminary despite not knowing russian when he started
