I didn’t say this was imminent.
Nobody cares enough about national sovereignty anymore to make a genuine change.
Look no further than the Alliance Party. The epitome of Northern Irish apathy, and they're making strides in every election.
I’m predicting part of the fallout of the elite pedo scandals and constant betrayal of the British public by Parliament could lead to a realignment in Northern Ireland.
Whew, okay lad
I know the demographics are heavily shifting Catholic at the moment anyways
"Catholic"
One thing has little to do with the other any more.
The demographics are shifting agnostic, secularist, and atheist.
All of Britain could turn Catholic tomorrow and it wouldn't affect politics with Ireland.
The ghost of Ian Paisley will save Ulster.
“Save”
You’re that attached to the bloody Union?
I don't think you realise how quite conservative Northern Ireland is. Radically pro-life, radically anti-gay. Everything about the Republic of Ireland is hated by them.
What exactly is Ulster being “saved” from these days?
The ROI
I am aware of that and I really do want what’s best for them.
Abortion and gay marriage is totally illegal in Northern Ireland, and looks to be going nowhere. Read up, chum.
If ROI gets Ulster tomorrow what specific bad things happen that aren’t already happening?
That’s why I come and talk to people, man. You don’t need to jump down my throat like this.
The foreigners who claim that Ireland will be united anytime soon are the same folks who act as if Bobby Sands is still on hunger strike, and entire high streets are still being blown to pieces by the IRA and UVF.
If the ROI gets Ulster, abortion is legalised and so is gay "marriage".
I’m generally very anti-Westminster, anti-Union (for Scotland and Ireland), and anti-EU, mostly for ethnic reasons. I’m Scottish/Irish heritage American.
Are you a yank?
Oh mercy...
This explains everything.
That's the impression I'm getting.
I’m surprised the UK hasn’t forced abortion and gay marriage on NI.
Oh, right. You said you're American.
My main source of knowledge on this is a Scottish Catholic former SAS guy I know IRL.
That being the case, in the nicest way possible..... Just stop talking.
Kek. Every man and his dog in Scotland is "Former SAS".
No.
And this guy actually was.
This is why I always avoid talking about the Ulster question online. You always get American folks pretending they possess the expertise of Martin McGuinness, when really they're about as informed as my nine month old cousin.
I’ve never met a more devoted Catholic man in my life; he isn’t the sort to lie.
When have I pretended I have expertise?
Thanks for the insults, English.
I give you a chance to explain what you think the real situation is to me and you throw it in my face.
What about the poll numbers showing that something like 60% of Northern Ireland would join ROI if they could stay in Europe?
I mean... don't come in here predicting monumental political fallout, mass exposure to "elite pedophile rings", and then not expect somebody to be utterly dumbfounded by those claims.
