"Yes, I am. I am a part of the universal church."
"....No, you're not. We're the universal church"
"You don't *own* the word 'Catholic', we are catholics!"
"..."
Having said that, though, I honestly don't think Ordinariates are that much better.
Technically true, but the intent of deception is clear
They're not heretics, but by gum, they are the most obnoxious people on the face of the UK.
They're in communion with Rome, but they still have no problem using Protestant slurs to describe the rest of the Catholic church.
Trads are honestly more bearable than Ordinariates, and by and large, they do not make themselves easy to get on with.
All of the Ordinariates I've met are absolutely tremendous.
Very conservative, , very well-informed, loyal to Rome, dedicated to liturgical beauty, and a tremendous devotion to Our Lady.
I can't say I've had the same experience.
Everyone I've met has used the term "Romans" with a sneer in their voice when mentioning Catholics.
I am inclined to profoundly disagree with you, on this matter.
When I met one in person at March for Life who asked me what Liturgy I attend; on mentioning the TLM, he decided to go on an unwarranted diatribe of TradCats for a good 5 minutes or so.
And God forbid you mention the Sarum use without one of them crying about "Latinisation".
Hm, I guess I find Anglo Catholics more based in theory. This guy and one other are the only ones I know and they basically call themselves Catholic because they love the culture, not because they think they're the real Catholics or sumn
That's essentially what the entirety of Anglocatholcism is.
They go to Latin Mass sometimes and come out raving about the beauty but they can't square the theology basically
How unfortunate. Every Ordinariate attendee I have ever met were remarkably sound, friendly too.
Indeed.
Lol fair. I just think it's a hopeful trajectory coming from Evangelical nonsense.
They're headed in the right direction
Anglicanism is essentially the mormonism of the UK
It's a political identity, not a religious one.
Ah, now, you're being unfair to the Anglicans.
Mormons are totally insane.
These guys are technically Presbyterian, the American communion is less retarded
My point was the church is very quick to fall over itself to ape the positions of the govt of the day
The pattern between the two is very similar
Sorry, Episcopal
Always get them backwards. Prot gobldygook
There was a time where so many Anglicans were converting that people thought England was going to become fully Catholic.
Then everyone decided to become gay instead
Ah yes
A lot of the Bishops in the early 90s converted because of the decision to ordain women.
Not so much *everybody*, rather everybody that mattered.
Ah yes
While I have your attenion
What is the Trad gripe with John Henry Newman?
