idk his argument entirely, seems magical to me.

2019-05-30 17:24:20 UTC

The only shizz we got is gas, electric, and hydrogen which is largely pre-prod.

2019-05-30 17:24:29 UTC

Lol.

2019-05-30 17:24:41 UTC

well there's diesel

2019-05-30 17:24:42 UTC

but yeah

2019-05-30 17:24:46 UTC

True.

2019-05-30 17:26:20 UTC

At the end of the day battery technology is severely lacking, and to sustain high doses of electricity we will have to opt in towards other methods. In my opinion, that will go way of nuclear, or fusion (when that becomes viable).

2019-05-30 17:27:01 UTC

Yea i don't see electric 18wheelers being very effective

2019-05-30 17:27:35 UTC

Agreed.

2019-05-30 17:27:37 UTC

I have no doubt that electric will *one day* surpass gasoline or diesel, but that's far off into the horizon.

2019-05-30 17:27:55 UTC

a loooong long time from now

2019-05-30 17:28:25 UTC

Yearp.

2019-05-30 17:28:42 UTC

I'm hoping to see major change before I die. That would be cool.

2019-05-30 17:28:58 UTC

Rapid acceleration in technology, and other stuff.

2019-05-30 17:30:00 UTC

That'd be fun

2019-05-30 17:31:33 UTC

I don't know if you follow PC news at all, but the new CPU specs and prices dropped by AMD is hype.

2019-05-30 17:31:55 UTC

I'm hoping it stimulates competition, and prices drops all around between them and Intel.

2019-05-30 17:32:39 UTC

Yea unfortunately i upgrade my PC ever 5 years or so, and got a new cpu a year ago

2019-05-30 17:32:56 UTC

so i don't get to benefit from it immediately

2019-05-30 17:33:06 UTC

and i spent more than i should have lol

2019-05-30 17:34:42 UTC

I'm right there with you. I'm still rocking an i7-3770k CPU from Intel, and a GTX 970 from Nvidia. The 3770k was released back in 2011 IIRC, and I bought it in 2013. The GPU I won for free at a gaming LAN in Oregon 5 years back.

2019-05-30 17:34:50 UTC

I'm hoping to do a new build by the end of the year.

2019-05-30 17:35:04 UTC

Yea i've got a ryzen 1600 and gtx970

2019-05-30 17:35:26 UTC

the mining went crazy so i never upgraded GPUs when i had an abundance of money and i no longer have an abundance of money

2019-05-30 17:35:35 UTC

so now i wait

2019-05-30 17:35:44 UTC

The mining was ridiculous for a good while there I'll say.

2019-05-30 17:35:59 UTC

I would see people on reddit selling like 50x GPU's 😂

2019-05-30 17:36:09 UTC

I'm like where the fuck do I get that type of money.

2019-05-30 17:36:22 UTC

Yea there were used 970's on craigslist for more than i paid for my new 970 3 years prior

2019-05-30 17:36:29 UTC

it was ridiculous

2019-05-30 17:36:46 UTC

😐

2019-05-30 17:36:46 UTC

So now i have VR and a 970, eh

2019-05-30 17:37:52 UTC

I haven't got into VR yet. I haven't been impressed enough to dig into that side of tech. I'm hoping Oculus or HTC releases a better product in the next several years or so.

2019-05-30 17:38:45 UTC

I just do Sim racing so i don't need the hand wand things, used mixed reality headsets are absolutely phenomenal for the price for what i do

2019-05-30 17:39:20 UTC

$180 for like 50% more FOV than a rift and 20% more resolution

2019-05-30 17:39:43 UTC

plus it's lighter

2019-05-30 17:41:04 UTC

Huh. That's not bad. I've largely been wanting a solid, but realistic FOV. I want it to be high resolution, and preferably 120 Hz butter smooth. But, of course, largely technology isn't advanced enough where that is reality at 4k or greater. feelsbadman

2019-05-30 17:41:08 UTC

Have you ever played Assetto Corsa?

2019-05-30 17:41:20 UTC

All i do is assetto corsa

2019-05-30 17:41:31 UTC

the mixed reality headsets are like 90 fov at 90hz

2019-05-30 17:41:49 UTC

there's like 5 of them but they all use the same panels
