Honestly they should all find each other and just make a new game themselves

2019-03-17 03:24:09 UTC

I'm pretty sure some of them have done just that.

2019-03-17 03:24:34 UTC

that might just be what Fallout 4: New Vegas really is

2019-03-17 03:26:11 UTC

There was a guy that made a really elaborate mod right after he graduated high school as an application to Bethesda, and he got hired by Bungie instead.

2019-03-17 03:26:14 UTC

People have always given Bethesda a free pass due to user fixes

2019-03-17 03:26:22 UTC

His mod was called Falskaar.

2019-03-17 03:26:38 UTC

Not even Obsidian gets that kind of treatment

2019-03-17 03:27:23 UTC

Troika kinda did, but not to the degree that Bethesda did, and not until after the company folded up.

2019-03-17 03:27:45 UTC

You should go on Bethesda forums, New Vegas is considered the worst by some of the hardcore fans

2019-03-17 03:28:01 UTC

Of course.

2019-03-17 03:28:59 UTC

Haven't been on there since the 76 debacle, so who knows what they're saying now

2019-03-17 03:29:25 UTC

On the fallout reddit page, people will bitch about how the 'real fallout fans always shit on Fallout 3 and 4,' but it's true.

2019-03-17 03:29:44 UTC

Real fans do shit on those, because they are the least Fallout of the series.

2019-03-17 03:30:23 UTC

It's true that the originals are just magical. But 3 was pretty dang good

2019-03-17 03:30:40 UTC

Bethsoft can't even keep their own setting consistent

2019-03-17 03:31:57 UTC

My appreciation of Fallout 3 took a dive after I first heard someone mention that the game was originally intended to take place right after the bombs fell, instead of after Fallout 2.

2019-03-17 03:32:40 UTC

Because it's blatantly obvious, and Bethesda's correction of it was just changing entries in terminals, and not bothering to make it look like people have been living there for two more centuries.

2019-03-17 03:32:54 UTC

Other than that, I hate that guns degrade.

2019-03-17 03:33:09 UTC

Fallout 3 is like 80% retcon and the remaining 20% is honestly just nonsensical

2019-03-17 03:34:25 UTC

also I will die on this hill if necessary. The "hybrid" combat in the gamebryo games is just not good

2019-03-17 03:34:54 UTC

the RPG mechanics are at their strongest in NV, and even there they often feel pretty minimized, and the gunplay is trash tier

2019-03-17 03:35:29 UTC

too often X/RPG's get a free pass for being a bad RPG and a bad X (generally shooter or action game)

2019-03-17 03:36:25 UTC

I hate so much that they turned Fallout into a first person shooter.

2019-03-17 03:37:08 UTC

I think it certainly could have been done properly if need be

2019-03-17 03:37:44 UTC

I think that's most of where their problems come from. Trying to make Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion with guns

2019-03-17 03:40:00 UTC

Should have just made Morrowind/Daggerfall with guns

2019-03-17 10:01:13 UTC

I like all the Fallout games. They are each different in their own ways

2019-03-17 10:02:21 UTC

Then again, I loved Mass Effect 3

2019-03-17 11:30:22 UTC

I thought mass effect three was fine.

2019-03-17 12:13:19 UTC

Everyone freaked out about the ending. I thought it was fine. What did they want, a Fallout style slide show?

2019-03-17 12:44:21 UTC

I wasn't terribly bothered by the ending, but there was the fact that something like six months before the game released, one of the devs did an interview where he said something about how the story was too complex to just wrap it up with three color coded endings, or something to that effect.

2019-03-17 12:44:28 UTC

You know, exactly what they did.

2019-03-17 13:03:20 UTC

Not enough people were upset by how poorly Bioware handled ME2

2019-03-17 13:03:56 UTC

And it was 2 weeks before the game came out, and the guy who wrote the ending restating that they wouldn't do an A/B/C ending

2019-03-17 13:04:44 UTC

I was thoroughly not upset

2019-03-17 13:04:59 UTC

🤷

2019-03-17 13:05:05 UTC

I really enjoyed it

2019-03-17 13:06:29 UTC

Ripped most of the RPG out of their RPG, retconned aspects of the setting so they could make it more like a generic cover shooter

2019-03-17 13:06:38 UTC

🤢

2019-03-17 13:07:30 UTC

I really liked Fallout 4

2019-03-17 13:08:22 UTC

I would honestly argue that it basically isn't an RPG anymore. The Bethesda gutting is complete
