Which bill causes all faiths to not to wear religious effects in public or at work in Quebec? That is towards everyone?
I mean it's pretty clear why it's being pursued, to be fair
It's not because of people wearing the cross
Sounds like a dumb law, but you could just as easily say it discriminates against Jewish men
Yeah, kind of like the burka ban stuff, the reasoning put forward is disingenuous
Well it's being put forth as a legal burka ban. It's one of those open secrets
But I also think the argument that covering women up is a feminist cause is absurd
Or rather, I think that the argument that it's a women's rights cause is absurd. I'm not surprised to see feminists embracing their own favourite form of conservatism
the head scarf doesn't bother me, the one that blocks the face is the one I have a problem with.
I'd ban hijabs entirely, but that's just me.
I just view it as a hat. I know it has other meaning, but generally I just don't have an issue with hats and don't want to make exceptions especially when it comes to laws.
The offensive quote: *“’I would give the greatest sunset in the world for one sight of New York’s skyline.’ — Ayn Rand*

Is Ayn Rand unacceptable now? Atlas Shrugged seems like pretty mainstream reading
Ayn Rand has been unacceptable for ages now
"Lefties" hate her
(Find out why. Click here!)
Main issue being that she's a fan of free markets and ubermensch.
going back to the head gear thing:

The idea that Ayn Rand is far right, especially considering what the media wants you to think of when they say that, is pretty stupid.
They seem to have a thing for trying to associate Jews with Nazism, don't they?
It's only really good for the meme
Yup
Ah heck, a rich actor won't work if this becomes a law. They got us this time fellas.
hmm probably can't stop himself from impregnating women while he's there, so he needs abortions to be legal.
is that really a loss? aside from arrested development, what has he even done in the last 20 years
sounds like a meaningless gesture to me. one that wouldn't impact him at all
I'm sure the people of Georgia will be devastated to hear the Hollywood celebrities won't be visiting them anymore
I forgot who pointed it out, but the people in georgia who it is going to hurt are probably mostly going to be people who agree with the actors
either Shapiro or Knowles
can't remember
or Klavan
lmao
So... Somebody at the Daily Wire?
ye
Georgia has a tax credit/grant scheme for studios, so if they wanted to hurt Georgia, Hollywood should move there to completely drain the state's coffers
a significant portion of MTV's shows are done there(the ones that aren't Cali-centric) because it makes good business sense to shoot there
not just MTV but there is a lot of cable shows are shot there
