Mental illness only excuses crime and should therefore be considered during sentencing, if the illness either makes a person lose control over their actions or prevents them from realizing that what they are doing is morally and legally wrong during the time of the crime. If the mental illness did not lead to the crime mentally ill people should receive exactly the same punishment as sane people do, because they are just as responsible, though they might receive mental care when in prison. Thinking you are a woman does not excuse rape.

I think we should get rid of prisons entirely. They don't work, and they cost s fuckton of money. Bloodsports and indentured servitude would be much better.
