To be fair, I've long suspected that one of the sexual disorders gay people suffer from as a result of 'sexual abuse and assault' is homosexuality.

That seems to be a thing that is brought out by abuse a lot too.
The same arguments used to justify homosexuality can be used to justify pedophilia. Only barrier is whether or not a child can consent.
This is the key problem with the modern concept of sexual morality. Consent is the only variable that matters.
Nothing else restricts what’s allowed and what’s not.
