Acrylic can feel too light and metal too heavy
I feel like Ebonite is the perfect density
You can still get them
It's harder to get a source for ebonite I guess
In CHina and India they still make new ones
plus all their old stock
I think it's just overall demand has gone down
and it was considered inferior for many reasons
