you're ultimately trying to do something that pleases the majority
but without the majority directly contributing
they i guess capitalism is indirect demcracy
Kinda, yeah. You vote for the favorite product with your wallet, the companies try to win your wallet.
the process of markets could be argued to be democratic, in a sense. However not all "votes" are "equal" in trade
so its good enough for our money but not good enough for our govt?
why would all votes be equal?
thats silly
some people hold more stock
or invest more
Because then you get into monopolies where a bunch of rich people get to decide everything and once again the poor get shit on.
Let me guess
“Social darwinism”
the poor get shit on?
in capitalism?
are you joking?
our poor are the best poor. way better than anyone else
your proposal was dealing with voting with one's feet though
ask anyone
No. In a government, if your suggesting people should have more say than others based on wealth.
unless they are a shareholder
its a bussiness
the bussiness is providing govt services
business*
if you dont like you dont buy
if the business loses too many customers/residents it fails
and a new one starts to fill the market gap
Yes and if your a shareholder, your part of the country. If everyone in a country is a shareholder, and not all shares are equal
idelly
no anybody can own shares if they buy them
you dont have to live in the country
probably better if you dont. avoids conflicts of interest
Your dealing with masses of living space, not products though. You can’t just go out and make your own country because other people live there and as such have their own society.
Unless you have an army.
obviously youd have an army
probably lots of drones etc
If your a person and don’t like the system you say “get out make your own”
as for the transition to this new system, thats a different story
im talking about the new system itself
say detroit finally gives up pretending to be a real city
