probably earlier if mw2 was 2009.

2019-12-10 23:27:42 UTC

Im only 28 and I feel ancient now.... fuck

2019-12-10 23:28:05 UTC

Basically have to start writing your will now dude

2019-12-10 23:28:15 UTC

rofl

2019-12-10 23:43:25 UTC

That's wild. You played when I would consider the series downturn. After mw2 it got weird

2019-12-10 23:44:36 UTC

latest CoD is actually pretty deec

2019-12-10 23:45:35 UTC

I grew up on COD1, MW1 and a ton of MMORPGs because *THAT* was a thing.

2019-12-10 23:46:47 UTC

I never got into that even though I did play while bypassing my school's firewall

2019-12-10 23:47:42 UTC

I played a lot of Dark Age of Camelot. between 1998-2008

2019-12-10 23:49:48 UTC

Hell yeah!

2019-12-10 23:50:17 UTC

Age of Empires was the game to break me into online gaming

2019-12-10 23:52:37 UTC

That's commendable. I play a lot of xbone right not. Borderlands 3 atm but when I get the itch to play PC I usually lean towards older games

2019-12-10 23:54:18 UTC

If the franchise is right and they create the right atmosphere I can get sucked in. I like borderlands 3

2019-12-10 23:54:46 UTC

The last one was Red dead redemption 3

2019-12-10 23:55:49 UTC

2

It's a shame that PC has been left behind when it comes to optimization

2019-12-11 00:03:25 UTC

They do sort of optimize, but by sacrificing space

2019-12-11 00:03:49 UTC

Then again it is much easier to optimize for a single set a hardware like a console than it is for the endless possible combinations you can have with PC

2019-12-11 00:04:08 UTC

Like every new game being >50gb with most of that being uncompressed textures and audio

2019-12-11 00:04:53 UTC

Idk if that's because of optimization

2019-12-11 00:04:58 UTC

is it?

2019-12-11 00:05:12 UTC

I just figured more detail

2019-12-11 00:06:00 UTC

nvm

2019-12-11 00:06:11 UTC

i didnt read your comment right

2019-12-11 00:06:49 UTC

In any case, they dont optimize especially well for console either

2019-12-11 00:07:01 UTC

PC just lets you overspec, basically

2019-12-11 00:08:39 UTC

makes sense. I just figured that the rigid specs of consoles would make more predictable results

2019-12-11 00:10:24 UTC

It does, but games constantly push the limits

2019-12-11 00:10:53 UTC

And it also depends on how the hardware is setup. Just look at the mess that was PS3 porting

2019-12-11 00:11:59 UTC

Hey! I liked my PS3!

2019-12-11 00:12:16 UTC

I didn't notice anything terribly wrong with it

2019-12-11 00:13:00 UTC

Ports tended to be iffy on the ps3 because devs wanted to develop on one standard and that standard didnt involve splitting the ram in a goofy way

2019-12-11 00:13:21 UTC

It's why Skyrim had issues on the PS3 but we heard fuckall about the 360 or PC, for example

2019-12-11 00:14:10 UTC

I played a lot of BO1 on that system. Skyrim was for PC

2019-12-11 00:14:34 UTC

Can't imagine going back to shooters on console

2019-12-11 00:14:51 UTC

But yeah, then you had the ramp down from the fat

2019-12-11 00:14:52 UTC

It's a tough transition...

2019-12-11 00:14:56 UTC

The loss of features

2019-12-11 00:15:12 UTC

An unnecessary transition tbh

2019-12-11 00:15:51 UTC

Idk... I went from playing at a pretty high level on the PC to playing console so I could play with my local friends

2019-12-11 00:16:55 UTC

The way you move through the map is still useful even if you are playing with a stupid .5" stick to aim with
