Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
there better not be a federal law telling a pastor what he can or cannot say
Presumably the tax exempt status would establish some rules.
i guess it's not speech
just campaign activity
ah yes, the IRS. The government entity that shouldn't be in the first place
so the pastor is safe
"In 1954, Congress approved an amendment by Sen. Lyndon Johnson to prohibit 501(c)(3) organizations, which includes charities and churches, from engaging in any political campaign activity. To the extent Congress has revisited the ban over the years, it has in fact strengthened the ban. The most recent change came in 1987 when Congress amended the language to clarify that the prohibition also applies to statements opposing candidates."
so as long as you do not make statements against opposing candidates
you're good
so i think the lady in the church freaked out over nothing
technically speaking
I think Lyndon forgot what "Shall Make No Law" means
Lyndon forgot what a lot of things in the constitution means.
The lady in the church freaked out about something. But she doesn't have to listen or attend the church. She chose not to attend the service, and was legally vocal about it
I think I would quietly start looking for a new church after that.
Realistically, it would be the same if I were in the in house audience of a Bernie Town Hall, and three questions in, i got up and said "This is Bullshit" and left
especially since Bernie would be the God-King of everyone else that would be in the room
@RoadtoDawn just finished editing. I'm going to give it a once over, and it will be live
longest solo video I've ever made to date
Nice man
@Chump_or_Champ how's your time in Maryland been? I've been in some part or another here my whole life. It's very diverse in Baltimore obviously, and there's been a surge in Mexicans the past couple decades as well. Thankfully I never encountered many outspoken leftists, though my current county is a lot less blue than Baltimore
Hi guys
Archer!!
you've returned
Not yet I'm in Dallas waiting for a load
say hi to crowder while you're there
Then el Paso to az again
I forgot that crowder was here
if you give it a few minutes, I'll have a new video for you to watch while you wait
my new one on Freshman Politicians is just processing
Sounds interesting I'll give it a look
I know every youtuber wants his videos to go viral, but this one is especially dear to my heart, because this is how I want to see the country, and how I think the founders did as well
and we are live. Link is going in the Video Links Channel
@RoadtoDawn it's always been pretty quiet here. Very safe and clean area. Not much to honestly complain about except the presence of MS-13 right outside of my parents' neighborhood.
When you drive about 1 mile down the road, you're in MS-13 territory. A LOT of Latin American migrants there.
I got a family member who FINALLY made it to America (legally) ...after 12 years.
Here's the quote I was talking about: "...as we come together today to commune, I cannot ignore some 2700 children being put away in concentration camps (applause breaks out from the Latin families) while their parents go through a process of documentation."
