I'm a Marylander.

2018-06-16 16:34:34 UTC

no worries. don't discord and drive.

2018-06-16 16:35:28 UTC

I'm in the especially blue part of the State, so I'm not particularly surprised by the (what I think) partisan statement made on the pulpit.

2018-06-16 16:43:38 UTC

the especially blue part of the state?? is that in comparison to the faded blue part of the state??

2018-06-16 16:47:05 UTC

@Chump_or_Champ if you post the stream are you not afraid to doxx yourself? at the very least everyone will know what church you go to...

2018-06-16 16:47:35 UTC

@J Edgar correct.

2018-06-16 16:48:19 UTC

@fluff not really. I believe that the company we keep here is largely comprised of good people.

2018-06-16 16:48:44 UTC

I live a largely squeaky clean life too.

2018-06-16 16:48:52 UTC

i see

2018-06-16 16:49:01 UTC

I uhgree with fluff. Actually. I do want to see the video, but don't doxx yourself over it

2018-06-16 16:49:15 UTC

Plus, I'm not really fond of the idea of living my life in fear.

2018-06-16 16:49:26 UTC

good point

2018-06-16 16:49:45 UTC

I hear you guys though. I most certainly did think about it too

2018-06-16 16:50:02 UTC

Never know what insane person is lurking in the shadows.

2018-06-16 16:50:12 UTC

yep

2018-06-16 16:51:14 UTC

Y'all are so considerate. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

2018-06-16 16:51:17 UTC

Lol

2018-06-16 16:52:50 UTC

if in the future you (or anyone else who is reading this) is concerned about doxxing but still want to publish something you were involved in, just create a different account and use that to post.

2018-06-16 16:53:46 UTC

I've already been doxxed once. I have the local police made abreast of what I do here, and they have my private phone number

2018-06-16 16:54:19 UTC

My supervisor understand that there may be a time where we have to part ways to save face for the company

2018-06-16 16:59:12 UTC

maybe Matt will include your church video tomorrow. sometimes it's nice to see things that happen in your own town. it's also nice to see what fellow fans of the show encounter or have to deal with.

2018-06-16 17:01:11 UTC

@fluff that's primarily my reason for sharing. I don't really think we're the type of community to harass my pastor and church friends for saying something stupid. Everyone does it, everyone has to deal with the blowback.

2018-06-16 17:04:09 UTC

I'm interested in yalls perspective.

2018-06-16 17:22:31 UTC

@Matt Christiansen what mic do you have

2018-06-16 17:22:44 UTC

In truth, a pastor isn't supposed to make political statements, but it has been my understanding that people don't really care so long as those political statements are sufficiently left wing.

2018-06-16 17:23:42 UTC

Like that racist asshole that was the 'pastor' for the church Obama claimed to go to, I'm willing to bet that guy preached about political crap far more often than he had anything to say about Jesus.

2018-06-16 17:24:13 UTC

@Khan he doesn't really check this. Send him an email. the address is in his videos.

2018-06-16 17:25:55 UTC

@Khan this is what I use, and I'll be adding a 48V Phantom Power supply within the next year

2018-06-16 17:28:15 UTC

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

2018-06-16 17:28:43 UTC

there better not be a federal law telling a pastor what he can or cannot say

2018-06-16 17:29:41 UTC

Presumably the tax exempt status would establish some rules.

2018-06-16 17:30:03 UTC

i guess it's not speech

2018-06-16 17:30:19 UTC

just campaign activity

2018-06-16 17:30:20 UTC

ah yes, the IRS. The government entity that shouldn't be in the first place

2018-06-16 17:30:30 UTC

so the pastor is safe

2018-06-16 17:31:21 UTC

"In 1954, Congress approved an amendment by Sen. Lyndon Johnson to prohibit 501(c)(3) organizations, which includes charities and churches, from engaging in any political campaign activity. To the extent Congress has revisited the ban over the years, it has in fact strengthened the ban. The most recent change came in 1987 when Congress amended the language to clarify that the prohibition also applies to statements opposing candidates."

2018-06-16 17:32:07 UTC

so as long as you do not make statements against opposing candidates

2018-06-16 17:32:10 UTC

you're good

2018-06-16 17:32:23 UTC

so i think the lady in the church freaked out over nothing
