Kierkegaard figured the solution was, to my knowledge, religious hierarchy. What people are latching onto is the Camus view, which is that you have to embrace the absurd

Well the world is predictable in that people will do dumb things if allowed to do so by society

the idea being that the attempt to apply meaning or systems to absurdity puts you atn odds with reality. The issue with this is that rolling with the absurdity is arguably what got us into this mess

sure, and Id say people do dumb things in predictable ways

Which means reality isn't absurd as much as the corrective action(s) have not been taken

that's actually a sizeable chunk of psychological research
