Basically, contraception is what happens before conception, as the word implies. Plan B is used after that point.

So there are different types of emergency contraceptives. Some prevent fertilization, some prevent implantation. Those are fundamentally different

One type prevents fertilization by delaying ovulation, presumably until after all the sperm have died

Another type prevents the already fertilized egg from implanting. This is the type that most pro-lifers are against, because we consider it life at that point.

Along similar lines, rather than vouching for abortions, why don't feminists vouch for forced vasectomies for men. That takes the responsibility off the woman to need to go out of her way and get an abortion.
