They're better than track pads, but not as good as an actual mouse. The appeal to then is not having to remove your hand from the keyboard to move your cursor. But it's equivalent to using an analogue stick to control.

It all comes down to preference, though.

2017-01-12 14:30:06 UTC

Forgot they have the momentum feature on track pads now. That shit is pretty nice, actually.

2017-01-12 14:30:47 UTC

2017-01-12 14:30:59 UTC

2017-01-12 14:31:07 UTC

good uni computer

2017-01-12 14:31:08 UTC

I still prefer the familiarity and accuracy of an actual mouse. But with laptops, you don't always have that option.

2017-01-12 14:31:12 UTC

literally the meme thinkpad

2017-01-12 14:31:29 UTC

im gonna swap out the HDD for a 480gb SSD

2017-01-12 14:31:55 UTC

yea i'd look pretty autistic if i set up an actual mouse in a lecture

2017-01-12 14:32:20 UTC

I have no need for a laptop, really. 480gb ssds are pretty affordable now.

2017-01-12 14:32:45 UTC

yea only like

2017-01-12 14:32:48 UTC

I think the SanDisk sp600 is something like 120$.

2017-01-12 14:32:51 UTC

£120

2017-01-12 14:33:01 UTC

for this kingston one

2017-01-12 14:33:16 UTC

also there was a load of bloat on this laptop

2017-01-12 14:33:21 UTC

I don't trust Kingston for anything but ram.

2017-01-12 14:33:24 UTC

i hate bloat

2017-01-12 14:33:26 UTC

😮

2017-01-12 14:33:28 UTC

why not

2017-01-12 14:33:47 UTC

They had that big false advertisement fiasco with their top end ssd last year.

2017-01-12 14:33:56 UTC

absolute madman

2017-01-12 14:34:17 UTC

The demo unit they presented was significantly faster than what they actually shipped.

2017-01-12 14:34:27 UTC

thats a classic scam

2017-01-12 14:34:30 UTC

pretty scummy

2017-01-12 14:35:15 UTC

Apple never got the memo that technology became less expensive.

2017-01-12 14:35:54 UTC

It's funny because Apple started out as a company aimed at making home computers affordable. At 2000$.

2017-01-12 14:36:03 UTC

i didnt even realise their flagships phones have 2gb ram

2017-01-12 14:36:11 UTC

and not even 1080p

2017-01-12 14:36:30 UTC

lol wat

2017-01-12 14:36:32 UTC

are they still 2gb

2017-01-12 14:36:36 UTC

yea

2017-01-12 14:36:37 UTC

To be fair, they're efficient enough to not really need much more ram.

2017-01-12 14:36:44 UTC

yea thats the meme

2017-01-12 14:36:52 UTC

they're better optimised than androids

2017-01-12 14:37:01 UTC

how well optimised is the pixel?

2017-01-12 14:37:08 UTC

But the point still stands that you're getting less for more.

2017-01-12 14:37:10 UTC

it seems like it should be
