When I did that class was during the "macs don't crash" meme. They were right. They didn't crash, they would just bog down and function so slowly without recovering that they should have crashed.

2017-01-12 15:24:01 UTC

they dont crash they just give you the color wheel

2017-01-12 15:25:30 UTC

Yeah, that too.

2017-01-12 15:25:55 UTC

Windows 95 style. Forever loading.

2017-01-12 15:26:00 UTC

2017-01-12 15:26:16 UTC

2017-01-12 15:26:47 UTC

it was like paint

2017-01-12 15:27:02 UTC

Oh god. We had like.. Apple IIIs or whatever. 5.5" floppy with color screen.

2017-01-12 15:27:22 UTC

Until I switched to public school. Then they all had up to date gateway PCs

2017-01-12 15:27:58 UTC

Never forget having to touch the metal chair to ground yourself before powering on the computer.

2017-01-12 15:28:10 UTC

wat lul

2017-01-12 15:28:54 UTC

Any static buildup on your body would result in a shock between you and the computer. Was nothing harmful to you, just unpleasant, and potentially destroy the machine.

2017-01-12 15:29:09 UTC

wonderful

2017-01-12 15:30:13 UTC

That's where all the anti static bs came from. 20+ years ago the components weren't nearly as resilient as they are today.

2017-01-12 15:30:54 UTC

I always wanted to wave the floppies around.

2017-01-12 15:31:05 UTC

yeah people buying static wristbands n stuff are being kinda silly

2017-01-12 15:32:08 UTC

This retard I knew got £1000 from his mum for xmas and complained it wasn't enough

2017-01-12 15:32:15 UTC

then he spent £50 on antistatic gloves

2017-01-12 15:32:25 UTC

lol fug

2017-01-12 15:32:27 UTC

no wonder it isn't if you buy retarded shit like that

2017-01-12 15:32:29 UTC

what a dink

2017-01-12 15:32:50 UTC

Most of the video guide people admit to never using the shit personally. It's still a possibility, and not a bad precaution to make. But I've rolled around on carpet to switch the cmos jumper while overclocking.

2017-01-12 15:33:09 UTC

I shut the power supply off and depleted the caps, of course. But still.

2017-01-12 15:33:14 UTC

ive seen reviewers grabbing shit by the pcb lmao

2017-01-12 15:33:17 UTC

idk

2017-01-12 15:33:37 UTC

It's perfectly safe if your hands are clean.

2017-01-12 15:34:36 UTC

Hell a lot of modern low power motherboards have dehumidifier functions where they'll power on to produce just enough heat to stay dry in humid conditions.

2017-01-12 15:35:06 UTC

I've only seen it on sub 25w platforms, though.

2017-01-12 15:35:44 UTC

so like

2017-01-12 15:35:59 UTC

there's some asus predator laptop at ces that costs a cool $9000

2017-01-12 15:36:24 UTC

Isn't that the one with the dual gpus and mechanical keyboard? Or is that the acer?

2017-01-12 15:36:29 UTC
