(Now that's an interesting sentence to type, I wonder when the normal phrasing will switch to read/type instead of listen/talk)
Unsure. Maybe never
But in any case - family structure
lol, yes
Any thoughts? Problems? Ideal solutions?
Don't slam your dick in a sliding glass door. It does not end well for anyone.
Words of wisdom
Family structures are important. But should generally follow the Heroes journey for (initially males, but I'd argue that females must be included in the structure for society to continue working).
The problem for females comes down to the coming back part, if they do not move quick enough, faster than the males have to, they will be "punished" to a greater extent.
Just discovered something in Windows 10 I didn't know about. If you hit the Windows Key + G you will get a gamer console. This console will allow you to record the video from your screen along with the audio. I tested it playing a YT vid full screen and it gave a flawless capture in mp4 format and saved it to your videos folder.
@FrostyCrits cool!
>follow the hero's journey
I'm sorry you've entirely lost me on how literary structure related to the topic at hand
One must leave the family, find a "trainer" of some sort, be challenged, go through hell, come back out, learn, come out the other side, go home...
This is the essence of growing up, the reason so many "ancient" stories follow that line...
Family should have the goal of nurturing this process. Family must raise children with the goal of removing them from the family, so they can grow, change, then rejoin the family.
Most of the flaws in family comes down to failing to do so.
Literary structures are interestingly form follows function.
The subject of the hero's journey is passive and rejects the initial call. They're found by a mentor
There are a lot of people who are perfectly happy not going on a transformative journey, however most people do want to settle down and start a family, sometimes even before they'd have a chance to start any real "adventure"
I'm not aware of this being statistically disadvantageous. If anything, marrying is a boon, and a marker of later financial success
Who are these figs myth was talking about and what channel was the debate.
@Red Falcor You there man!? Everything alright?
I think hes....
💀⚰️
can we try to keep chatting in other chats othe than roll call
Who's this "we"
😜
@Myth Why are we being told in general chat to use non-roll call!?
Everyone should name their sons Adolph so it will stop being edgy; imagine if Hitler's first name was Steven.
Omg Aerosmith is literally lead by a Nazi
@Chet Nick It's a bit harder to have an impact when you throw out the word Steven!
Is it possible to call in if I am on my phone?
yes, but you call from discord.. results may vary
Okay thank you 😊 I might call in if I am not too tired 😄
@JWille You call from Discord. You will miss out this week. You need to really go to the roll call at exactly ten minutes to if you want to get in!
Yeah, I teach today and commute all day so no go
Good to know, I will keep that in mind 😉 Thanks for letting me know 😁
I've got, like, 4 Adolphs and 3 Josefs in my family tree; "Steven" is weirder.
why do values that demonstrate success not proliferate? good question...
How far back can you trace your family tree? 🌱
considering we're only here because our ancestors did something right, whatever that may be
17th century on some branches. Then it gets muddy.
ah shit @JWille, I'm not even a son of the revolution. Polish and irish immigrants, and on one side a great great grandfather fought against the revolution. I'm somewhat proud. Monarchies are kind of dope.
