It's nice to visit my relatives in Slovokia because they'll say "We should kill every Muslim everywhere!" in a resturant, and everyone within earshot will cheer. 🍻

2019-11-07 04:31:17 UTC

thank God

2019-11-07 04:31:22 UTC

That makes me feel better

2019-11-07 04:32:04 UTC

Stefan Molyneux is the only atheist that I admire. he has his priorities straight

2019-11-07 04:34:16 UTC

He struggles with his Atheism, as do I. You should never trust anyone whose religion was not brought about by intense internal struggle. It's not faith if you just accept what was laid out in front of you as a child; that's submission; compliance.

2019-11-07 04:34:59 UTC

I'm one of those atheists who thinks Church atrendance should be MANDATORY.

2019-11-07 04:41:50 UTC

I think the Left was more rational and reasonable in the 1960's because their Intelligencia were getting their marching orders from the KGB, which while evil, was rational. If the Left is out of control, it is because they are not subject to any higher authority; no Pope of Socialist thought according to the Supreme Council. The result is chaos.

2019-11-07 04:57:23 UTC

Do you go to Church then?

2019-11-07 05:00:20 UTC

I'm going to use you guys as a sounding board for an idea I had

I was thinking you could separate intelligence into 2 broad categories
Practical and Intellectual
Practical is what you'd call street smarts and common sense, it's about working within the parameters of a system like our society
Where as intellectual is about trying to work outside those parameters
Practical intelligence is very grounded
Intellectual intelligence is what allows people dream big and innovate they can potentially expand the parameters but that comes at a risk, by losing the grounding of practical intelligence you start chasing the idea and forget about the parameters entirely and become purely theoretical there's when you get really impractical ideas like Socialism, they only work in theory because it doesn't work within our current parameters

2019-11-07 05:00:42 UTC

sorry to cut into your conversation just had to get that thought out before I lost it

2019-11-07 05:01:27 UTC

@Lord Zedd i think what you're talking about is EQ and IQ, emotional quotient and intelligence quotient

2019-11-07 05:01:53 UTC

Sorry EI not EQ

2019-11-07 05:02:24 UTC

nah I don't buy into "Emotional Intelligence"

2019-11-07 05:02:45 UTC

Well I have a good source that does

2019-11-07 05:02:57 UTC

it's more like conscienceness vs openness in the big 5 I guess

2019-11-07 05:03:08 UTC

2019-11-07 05:03:33 UTC

the ability to see and work with what it is observable and the ability to see outside that

2019-11-07 05:04:00 UTC

Left brain v right brain

2019-11-07 05:04:04 UTC

there's benefits to both and down sides to both

2019-11-07 05:04:45 UTC

I think the left have gone really far with the intellectual/theoretical stuff so far they've lost touch with the practical

2019-11-07 05:05:09 UTC

you saw it in the Dem debates "I don't want to hear what we can't do"

2019-11-07 05:05:11 UTC

@Beemann I'm a Christian and I dont like church. I want to like church but nigh everyone in the church is so dumb. Either old boomers devoid of any culture sense or intellectually stunted hippies

2019-11-07 05:06:11 UTC

I also think maybe that lack of grounding in the practical is a product of a disconnection from a sense of community, we ground each other

2019-11-07 05:06:56 UTC

that is one thing the religious have always had over the Atheists, something I noticed years ago during the height of internet atheism

2019-11-07 05:06:56 UTC

The communal aspect is the one major unreplaced advantage of religion though

2019-11-07 05:07:19 UTC

if we don't find some measure of replacement for that community we lose our grounding

2019-11-07 05:07:36 UTC

Yup, was talking to Clive though, re: not going

2019-11-07 05:07:46 UTC

No I go to church

2019-11-07 05:07:48 UTC

I think finding a replacement will become a necessity regardless

2019-11-07 05:07:56 UTC

it would seem a lot of them have found that community in social justice but it's not a healthy cooperative community

2019-11-07 05:08:04 UTC

But I dont like my church options but my town is too small to have a lot of options

2019-11-07 05:08:09 UTC

it's adversarial in nature

2019-11-07 05:08:18 UTC

Ah fair enough yeah
And yes, politics have become their own religion to a subset of the population

2019-11-07 05:08:24 UTC

heh I managed to tie my idea into the religious discussion 😄

2019-11-07 05:09:26 UTC

but it goes to a thought I have been having for a good while, we as a society need something bigger to replace that void left by religion and while many are going back to religion like Blonde I don't think that's a sustainable or wise decision

2019-11-07 05:11:59 UTC

Religion by choice....or religion by force

2019-11-07 05:27:30 UTC

My fucking water isn't working, ugh I need to leave this money pit of a house. I have had to call the heating a/c twice for 2 repairs within the last 2 months, had to buy a new frige and now my fucking water is out. I had to replace the whole well pump like 2 years ago, this house isn't even 10 years old.
