That moment when white people stores are less reasonable than chink with returns
wants me to pay shipping because their cable doesn't meet the spec and won't even fit properly
anyone bought power supplies/oscilloscopes from china? I'm afraid to design one.
hey, does anyone know a good word or source for small electrical button pressers? I saw this random way overpriced thing https://prota.info/ and without the pricetag and without the bluetooth it actually looks kind of useful to automate a bunch of stuff
seems decently priced
tho very hard way to do it
why not just take the cables from button and make connection that way
Wait.
This is an automated servo
That pushes buttons for you
Wtf are you automating this way
indeed
probly stuff that SHOULD NOT BE automatised
Maybe lights, if you rent your place.
But it seems so dumb lol
I'm thinking about any kind of machine with buttons that I don't want to open the casing and mess with the wiring of
what is this autismo shit
^
the product in that webpage is terrible
but the idea is useful
Yeah I guess.
why not just hot wire the buttons to an antenna
and use a dumb phone app
^
that's my end goal in 3 months
There are so many more elegant solutions
but i gotta learn to write apps
I don't even want an antenna or an app, I just want to be able to electrically override the button without having to care about the electronics behind the button or hack the plastic casing sometimes
I have some wifi enabled lights, expensive. But it's pretty sweet turning my bedroom to a brothel
or be able to remove everything relatively easily
ur gon run into structure problems
me htinks
if you use wifi then the NSA and GCHQ can hack your lights
how so? A servo that can press a button shouldn't need to be bigger than half-thumb size, no?
the servo has to stay in one place
the servo vibrates
duct tape
you think tape would fail too quickly?
