2017-03-20 01:48:39 UTC

@70R4N I'm not having luck finding a cable like that, but if you could get that cable it would be enough for a bm-800.

2017-03-20 01:48:52 UTC

Or even just splice your own.

2017-03-20 01:54:15 UTC

Well, you could get a splitter and an xlr to usb cable, but for the price you'd only be saving maybe 8$ over just buying a phantom power supply.

2017-03-20 02:12:02 UTC

just buy a chepo DAC on ebay

2017-03-20 02:12:46 UTC

I got an old M-Audio MobilePre 2 Chanel DAC for like 12$ on eBay

2017-03-20 02:14:18 UTC

Which has phantom power?

2017-03-20 02:14:47 UTC

I've seen those Scarlett solos as cheap as 30$ used. Should have jumped on it when I seen it.

2017-03-20 02:15:49 UTC

most decent DACs have phantom, there will be a button or a switch for it on the unit

2017-03-20 02:16:20 UTC

most will only do phantom over XLR, which is better to use anyway, I love my BM-800

2017-03-20 02:19:16 UTC

Well, yeah. Otherwise it's just an amp if not over XLR. I picked up my bm-800 prior to actually following /csg/ I just seen the sites in the threads and started looking around then checking reviews. Picked mine up with metal shock mount on sale for 13.50, the arm was on sale for 12. Then I just went and got a phantom power supply for 25$. 55$ with shipping and several weeks later I was pleased with my newfound audio toy.
