The way I see it, you can revere Mithra and Wotan and still understand how Christ fulfilled their role and embodied it in the flesh. He was essentially the final sacrament. His sacrifice was to end sacrifice. The bloodtree needed to be fed no more for harvest. He was bled to surpass all sacrifice. The harvest of our souls eternally sated.
