Honestly don't care at all about having cutting edge, just want something that can last and is sturdy. But fucking benchmark fags only care about shit straight out of the box and don't care about durability because they'll update in a year anyway.
Thats why I love business laptops
5 years old and keeping up with modern i5s and i7
I was considering an elite book or a think pad but I fucking hate how many listing don't have screen resolution
I'm not dealing with yet another 1366x768 shitscreen
at least 1440x900 or something
just as long as it's not the cursed resolution of the beast
768 is bearable on 12.5"
Get a T430 with the 900p panel
That's what I was thinking
Although I assume that means it's safe to assume 768
But on the other hand my brother bought a t430 from refurb.io and you could fool me into thinking it was brand new, it looked and felt completely new
and he has like
1600x900
that's what you notice with a lot of refurb machines
reason is
half the time instead of having desktops these machines are put under desks in docking stations and shit
my 2570p being a good example, usually refurb units have dents/bumps on the aluminium top cover
but the one I got from a local auction site has none
I'm also considering a chink mini PC or a refurbished business desktop for the parents
they have an awful 2009 gaming rig that was already dated in 2010
or whenever dx11 came out
specs?
ATI radeon 4400 (I think)
Used to be crossfired but the second died
4g ddr2
phenom X4 of some kind, that died and now iirc it's an Athlon 64
ouch
It's a 4450 and it's now an Athlon x2 something
my dad's throwing around upgrading
he has an i7 870, 8GB DDR3, and a bunch of HDDs on this dying Gigabyte board
paired with a 650Ti pushing heavy multitasking over 3 screens
Im thinking i could just replace it with an Intel Core 2nd/3rd refurb or one of those newer generation Celeron/Pentiums mini PC's
The thing is an eyesore with fans falling apart and not working
ouch
Red LED on one fan, Blue on the other
and it's one of those cheap old blue fans that flashed in a preprogrammed pattern
easy done, vesa mount it
the thing is honestly hilarious
usff is the smallest you get
no pcie or nothing
