also found this ``P965 Express and other contemporary Intel chipsets did not support 2 gigabit DDR3 chips or higher. So they would work with a 2 GB stick made of 16 chips (so 1 Gb/chip) but not one with 8 chips (2 Gb/chip).
P35 was the first which did to my knowledge. ``
so i would say you're ok with going cheaper route
LGA 1156 doesn't have this problem right?
>1156
damn that's old
i didn't buy any kind of special ram and my i5-750 works fine
It's not older than 775
Which the p35 chipsets is for, also 965
yeah
i really doubt it
how much for that if I may ask?
What? Ram? It's this one Kllisre DDR3 8 GB ram 1600 MHz 240 pinos 1.5 V n茫o-ECC de mem贸ria de desktop
http://s.aliexpress.com/yEN7ZbYv
(from AliExpress Android)
it's... not a good price
lol
i found same distinction on a polish auction site
馃
It's 8gb
AMD ram says it works with "VIA, SIS, ATI, AMD chipsets"
doesn't work with "Intel and nForce"
which is
older than 1156
ok, I guess with AMD price it would be truly 50% cheaper than locally
Does any seller not do the AMD approved ram bullshit?
i dunno
did you check your local market
actually
this one says a lot more about the issue
Damn
trying to find a datasheet for my i5
This sucks
I found this
you should probably find used ram for sale?
yes
when i had a 1156 mobo with an i3-530 it was a living hell to find compatible memory
It's a xeon system
oh sorry then, just assumed
give me the model
