Ebikes are how I started

You can build a 500w bike with an eBay kit for about $400 if you already have a bike lying around to convert

The expensive part is the batteries

where'd you get the batteries?

I'd suggest Turnigy 4S hardcase batteries from hobbyking

If not that, just pick up an Alibaba special 15ah 48v pack

The batteries for.my motorcycle though came from an EV salvage yard

I'm using 7 of them in series. Each module is 2 cells, for a total of 14cells @ 52v
